With the 2021-2022 season on the horizon, many of these incoming seniors will look to boost their stock and show to recruiters and scouts why their names should be on the top of the rankings ladder. Some players may find that their senior year may come with some of the best basketball they have ever played, and these are the players that I believe will stand out like they haven’t before, and raise their stock in the process. [player_tooltip player_id="207822" first="Claryn" last="Keeney"] | 5’11 PF | Westview | Rank (25) A physical big who is fantastic at playing down low, [player_tooltip player_id="207822" first="Claryn" last="Keeney"] has the potential to become a deadly 3 level scorer this upcoming season. With a solid stroke from the perimeter, Keeney knows how to use her height to her advantage and feasts on the boards. She can also get you a couple of blocks a game. Keeney has the ability to come off the pick and pop and draw the interior defense out, and with Keeneys ability to handle the ball, it can lead to Keeney and the rest of the Westview Wildcats using that to their advantage to get a bucket. It would be nothing but positive if Keeney can keep developing her three-point shot, and show why this season she can be a dominant two-way force. [player_tooltip player_id="207825" first="Mya" last="Adams"] | 5’9 | West Salem | Rank (32) What [player_tooltip player_id="207825" first="Mya" last="Adams"] showed throughout the 2020-2021 season, is that she has a very high basketball IQ on the court, and she knows how to make the right play. Adams is already a great facilitator and having her make plays with the ball is just about a guaranteed bucket. Adams has the scoring ability to make a couple of threes a game, and also be able to attack the basket with confidence. She understands the passing lanes which allow her to come up with a few steals a game, and on the offensive end, either make the right assist or get an open shot. Any college would be lucky to get her recruited to their team because she has the tools in her bag to be a great starting guard in the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="158523" first="Gretta" last="Baker"] | 5’10 | Cleveland | Rank (28) [player_tooltip player_id="158523" first="Gretta" last="Baker"] has the potential to show this upcoming season that she can be one of the most polished 3&D players in the state. Baker showed last season that she was more than capable enough to take the primary ball-handler one on one, and is smart enough to know when to take advantage of double teams. She isn’t afraid to get gritty and get her hands on deflections, and on the opposite end of the court she knows her place on the perimeter and can knock down a reliable jump shot. If she continues to show development and growth in her ball-handling and decision-making, we could be looking at a top ten player in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="207832" first="Eve" last="Hart"] | 5’9 | Wilson | Rank (38) Although Wilson may have had a down year this past season, they can still take solace in the fact that [player_tooltip player_id="207832" first="Eve" last="Hart"] will be a returning senior next year, and next to Tulsa commit Charlotte Richmond, will be a major player in leading Wilson basketball to wins. Hart has a strong basketball IQ who knows how to do the little things correctly. When doubled, Hart has no trouble making the correct pass out of the double team or finding an open cutter. Not only does she use her frame to set solid screens, but her ability to either attack the basket or hit from mid-range allows for Wilson to have multiple offensive weapons in their arsenal. Hart is no slouch on defense either and is more than capable of getting one to two blocks a game. A solid player whose offensive game can translate well to the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="207829" first="Karlee" last="Tyler"] | 6’0 | Stayton | Rank (33) A teammate of already named [player_tooltip player_id="207825" first="Mya" last="Adams"] on the Oregon Triple club team, [player_tooltip player_id="207829" first="Karlee" last="Tyler"] is someone who is willing to do the dirty work in order for a bucket. Tyler is a menace on the offensive boards and has a good understanding of boxing out opponents and crashing the glass. She uses her height to take smaller players in the post, and if she doesn’t have a good shot, she’ll look for a teammate who does. She has defensive intangibles which allow her to get a couple of steals a game and has good timing for blocks. Tyler already has quite a few double-doubles to her resume already, which would fluidly translate to the college game. [player_tooltip player_id="207838" first="Sadie" last="Kloeppel"] | 5’10 | Cleveland | Rank (54) Standing at 5’10, [player_tooltip player_id="207838" first="Sadie" last="Kloeppel"] has great size for her position, and she is able to use her size as an advantage over smaller guards’ tasks of guarding her. Sadie is a good knockdown shooter, who knows her spots around the perimeter. Not hesitant to shoot, Sadie has a good stroke that allows her to hit shots over her opponents. She is intimidating on D and uses her size and wingspan to get steals and deflections, as well as block a few shots a game. A modern-day 3&D wing, Sadie has the potential to have a great season this year. If she continues to be able to use her height to her advantage, there is a strong possibility she can find herself on an all-state team at the end of the season.
