This past Saturday, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana held it’s Third Annual Top-250 Expo. Eight members of Indiana’s 2022 class were in attendance, and they all did a nice job of displaying their abilities in front of the college coaches who were on hand. Below is a look at each of those eight young ladies, and why colleges throughout the Midwest should inquire about each of them.

– Jasmine has really grown on me over the last calendar year. She continues to look more and more comfortable around the perimeter, but she’s also playing stronger and more physical at the same time. She’s has nice height and length, wiry strength, and she’s much more dynamic off the dribble than she used to be. She will need to defend the ball a little better on the perimeter, but she continues to improve.

– Darryn has gotten better and better each year, and now she looks as well-rounded as ever. She is a long, wiry-strong, and bouncy/athletic forward. She has typically looked the most comfortable in the mid-post, but she can go back-to-the-basket inside, or she can play around the perimeter a little and move the ball. She’s athletic enough to become more of a small forward with added skillset.

, 2022, 5-10 SG, Lawrence Central H.S.
– Montasia had a really nice Summer, drawing interest from several colleges throughout July, so it’s no surprise she came out and performed well over the weekend. She has a long and wiry frame, fluid/smooth athleticism, and she is absorbing contact better as she gets stronger. She has nice touch at all levels, plus I think she could become a really nice defender with her athleticism and length.
Meghan McCormick, 2022, 5-4 SG, Mishawaka Marian H.S.
– Meghan is a little undersized for how she plays, but she has nice strength, she’s willing to be physical, and she’s a quietly tough-nosed kid. You aren’t going to just take the ball from her, plus she’s a solid perimeter shooter with a little range. I really enjoyed her demeanor and poise, and I think if she can make herself just a little more dynamic off the bounce, it could certainly help her recruiting.

Avon | 2022
State
IN
, 2022, 5-9 SF, Avon H.S.
– Over the last couple of years, Tonai has grown a few inches and really improved her all-around game. She has always had nice length, athleticism in most directions, and a little bounce. Now she is playing stronger, though she’s still a little thinner, but she has a toughness to her, and she is scoring it more consistently from all three levels. She’ll need to keep adding strength, but she has an “it” factor to her game.

, 2022, 6-3 C, Hamilton Heights H.S.
– In a graduating class short on size, MyKayla is probably the best true post player available. She has a broad, strong frame, some length, and she is a solid all-around athlete with a nice motor. She continues to improve her skillset around the block, and as she adds a more consistent mid-post game offensively, I think it will really help her recruiting. She already has a lot of qualities coaches of all levels will like.

, 2022, 6-1 PF, Warren Central H.S.
– While I’ve only seen her for the better part of six months, Mary is one prospect who just continues to get better each time I see her. She is still growing, gaining strength, and in turn gaining confidence. She has tremendous length, solid all-around athleticism, and she has shown some touch and skill around the perimeter. She’s still a wait-and-see kid because of her rapid growth, but she has a high ceiling of potential.

Merrillville | 2022

, 2022, 6-0 PF, Merrillville H.S.
– Following the injury bug, Davina put together a really nice Spring and Summer on the grassroots circuit. Saturday, she again looked like her old self, scoring the ball in a variety of ways from all three levels. She really flashes great mid-post skill, and with her combination of athleticism, perimeter skill, and her understanding of the game, she could be a real problem as a mid-post ‘4’ at the next level.
