Myself and my assistance scout were present front and center and watched these young ladies show their talents to the audience as well as us, I sat on the bench with a few teams, well, I was right next to the coach near the scorers table.
Malaya Taylor – #2 – Malaya is a scrappy shifty guard that handles the ball well and can get to the basket any time she wants to on the floor. She is a capable defender on and off the ball and she is a team player in every sense of the word. She has great size for a guard and knows how to use her body in the paint and is a pretty good weak side rebounder.
Renee Chong Renee Chong 5'3" | PG Bishop's HS | 2022 State CA – #4 – Strong guard that can finish at the rim thru contact and is a decent ball handler for her team. Renee is a veteran when it comes to playing the game, she has been playing at a high level for the last few years and will continue to do so until she commits somewhere to play at the next level. She is a long ball shot maker and is not shy about pulling up about 3 feet from the half court line to swish a shot. She knocked down about 3 of them in a game I watched her play this past weekend.
Maria Gorbushin – #24 – Strong forward body that can defend in the paint and on the perimeter, she is a very good rebounder and can push her way into some great weak side or strong side rebounds. She is a skilled perimeter shot maker on the floor and can also setup her teammates for some great passes for assist. She has good size and knows how to use it.
Natalie Sierra Vargas – #32 – Skilled big that can handle it and can finish inside the paint as well as being a good shot blocker with good timing. Natalie can run the floor well and can get to the rim and seal her opponent and finish thru contact, which allows her to be a tough guard for anyone. She is capable of making shots as well from the perimeter, witnessed her make a few midrange shots and did so with some good form. She is gonna be a good one at the next level in my opinion.
Tiana Abrams – #25 – Skilled forward with a lot of upside to her game, can run the floor, can score in the paint and is a very willing defender on and off the ball. She is a young one I believe, but she has some really good things about her game that got us excited as she came into the game. She has great size and is lengthy on the floor and has a swag about her game that lets you know she is confident within herself. She will be a definite college prospect for any coach to recruit.
Angelina Robles Angelina Robles 5'3" | PG Bishop's HS | 2022 State CA – #1 – point guard with skill to handle the ball and not turn it over, solid shooter and is crafty can get to the rim and finish, willing defender and uses her size well to orchestrate the offense for her team. Shoots the ball well out to three pointer and is a vocal leader on the floor.
