of East Buchanan High School. Hogan, a Wartburg Women’s Basketball Commit, is dishing out assists left and right. She is currently third in the state in APG with nearly 7. This is just a small example of what Hogan can do. She can create off the catch or dribble, facilitating to others around her for open looks on a consistent basis. This is a skill-set that Wartburg happens to thrive on in their offense so looking forward, the future is very promising following this senior season.

Wartburg is always a program that has high level prospects both on and off the floor. Another individual from Iowa, that is putting together a Senior season to remember while doing her thing is

. Hogan will be with Wartburg following this year but up until this point, she has been demonstrating to everyone watching that she could be a very solid producer. Not only for right now but down the line at the next level as well. In this Update, Hogan moves up a few spots cause of her consistency. She has been someone that has always been solid since she was a Freshman and over-time, she has seemingly gotten better. It’s always nice to see that hard work pays off and in this case – it certainly has.

has truly stuffed the stat sheet early in the season for East Buchanan, including averaging 6.5 steals per game, which puts her in fifth so far in the state rankings. The do-it-all point guard is also averaging 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. Though Hogan is at the bottom of the 2-3 zone at times for the Buccaneers, she’s got great athleticism and an aggressive mentality that makes her a big-time threat. Don’t pass lightly through East Buchanan’s zone, or Hogan is taking it!

will be joining Pagniano in her commitment to Wartburg. Hogan is the leader of her East Buchanan Varsity team and that is not going to change for her Senior season. This group does have some other prospects that can do a thing or two but it seems that they are really only going to go as far as Hogan can take them with the ball in her possession. Over the years, Hogan has proven that she is a leader. She can compete on both sides of the floor at an effective rate and make things exciting with her tenacious pressure. Now that she is locked in to compete at the next level, that takes a bunch of pressure off of her so she will be able to step out there as a Senior this Winter and play confidently. Something that will be exciting to see first hand.

of East Buchanan is going to have a squad to lead this next season and I can’t wait to see how she does. Hogan is a Point Guard, that plays a consistent type of play style, while controlling the tempo of her team’s pace throughout a ball game. She is someone that gets her hands on a lot of loose balls on defense because of her anticipation and fast hands. This is a prospect out of the 2025 Class that would be considered a viable option still uncommitted. She could turn out to being a really solid player at the next level given the right guidance and system. She just needs to find her place within a future program and she could make some things happen.

and her
Iowa Prep
team has been on a roll as of late. Their team has been winning and Hogan has been a leader by example through and through. She has been running the PG position to a T, she has been knocking down shots and scoring whenever the opportunities present themselves, and she is sweating the small details and that can make up for some big results at the end of a ball game. In her first few contests of the weekend, Hogan was the leading scorer on her team, while also doing a little bit of everything across the board as a player. This group started their weekend on a win streak and they are looking to close it out like that as well. If everyone shows up and they keep playing how they have been, it’s more than possible.

My biggest question for

coming into this event was her efficiency. She has always been a prospect that has a higher skill level than most her age but sometimes she would shrink when she had other good players around her on the same floor. Not this weekend though. This weekend she proved to me that she can be someone that can lead her team from the PG position, while making great choices with the ball in her hands. She is a willing passer when she creates off the dribble and she is always looking for ways to beat the personal matchup that is defending her in the open court. Hogan has the ability to be a college level Point Guard. If she can continues to do her thing, stay efficient, limit turnovers, and score when the opportunity present itself, she is going to get a chance to play at some collegiate level. I’m not sure which level yet but she displayed this weekend that she has both the ability and mental game to make the difference in a tough contest against other skilled prospects. As long as she gets an opportunity, she is going to kill it.

the past few years and she will be competing in this event with her
Iowa Prep
2025 team once again this weekend. Hogan can be a game changer. She impacts play on both sides of the floor with her smooth passing and knowledge of situational basketball more times than not. This weekend it’s all about her efficiency. I need to see that she can perform the same way the entire weekend. If she can do that, I think there are going to be a handful of coaches there that would be willing to talk to her about her collegiate future. Her raw skill and talent level are there to compete at the next level, it all comes down to being consistent with things overall. Something that I know is more than possible for someone with the talent level Hogan possesses.

compete closely this past AAU season and she could definitely help a college team at the next level if put in the right situation. Hogan has always been interesting to me ever since she was a Freshman. She is a natural point guard, this is pretty good when it comes to making plays with the ball in her hands but in this case, we are talking about how active she is on defense. Throughout travel season, you don’t see a lot of great defense but in Hogan’s case, she was tipping passing and grabbing steals at a high rate all summer long and if she wasn’t, she was the first on the floor, diving for a loose ball on most occasions. As for this high school season, Hogan is averaging 5.8 SPG while leading her team in several other categories. These are some nice numbers but I imagine this is only the start. Hogan still has a few more years to go at the high school level. If she can continue to expand her game and become more consistent, everyone else better watch-out.

is an individual that is underrated in several aspects of the game. When you first see her play, you can tell that she is skilled offensively with the ball in her hands at the point position. A majority of the time that is because she is very good at picking her spots as to when she should shoot the ball as a jumper, compared to taking her defender off of the dribble. This season has started off a little different than some might have expected for Hogan though. Other than taking care of her usually offensive duties, she is creating and distributing at a high rate. Higher than normal. A part of this is due to her off-season work. Hogan played up for her AAU program at the 17U level on their top team and held her own on most occasions. The experience and knowledge she learned from playing with these better players, definitely helped her become more productive on the high school floor. Looking toward the future, Hogan does have a college level skill-set, she just needs to figure out what she wants to do. There are a handle of schools in Iowa that I’m sure would be interested but again, it’ll all come down to what she wants out of her college experience, more-so then anything else.
