Arizona has an outstanding list of senior guards in the class of 2022. Here’s a look at some of them: [player_tooltip player_id="214583" first="Hannah" last="Robbins"] is a six-foot senior guard and small forward for both PHH Prep in Phoenix and her club team, Arizona Select. She played her first two years of high school at Desert Vista. As a freshman, she averaged 12.7 points per game and, as a sophomore, she averaged 16.5 per game. While at Desert Vista, she was awarded Player of the Game honors a total of 15 times by Max Preps. Hannah then transferred to Arizona Elite Prep for her junior year where she averaged 16.0 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks per game. Hannah was ranked #22 in the listing of the Arizona Republic’s 50 elite basketball players for 2020-2021. She had a season-high 30 points earlier this year in an 83-25 win over Scottsdale Bella Vista Prep. One scout summed up her game this way, " She has length for rebounding, plays tough defense, has deft ball-handling skills and a smooth outside shooting touch to the heavily recruited Division I colleges that scout PHH Prep." The daughter of former University of New Mexico standout Rob Rollins, Hannah recently committed to play for the Lady Lobos. She sums up her profile this way. "I am a six-foot guard who can score from all positions, rebound, play defense, and get my teammates involved. During my high school career and on every team I played on, I have led in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots." She is ready for an outstanding senior season and a career playing in the Mountain West Conference. [player_tooltip player_id="73478" first="Mackenzie" last="Shivers"] is a five-foot-six senior guard who plays for Mesa High School. She also plays on the 17U team for her club, Arizona Elite. Playing for Head Coach Katie Fonseca, she averaged 15.3 points per game along with 5.6 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 5.2 steals. The Lady Jackrabbits finished 13-5 last season and 8-2 in their region. Mesa lost in the state tournament to Xavier College Prep, 40-30, although Mackenzie chipped in with 22 points in that game. A three-year starter, she has played in 70 games, averaging 16.2 points. She is already over 1,200 points in her career. "She can do it all on the offensive end," said Coach Fonseca. "She is a driver slasher who can hit the three-point shot consistently while also getting to the rim. She has worked a lot this year on her mid-range game." She ranks among the top five guards in the state for her class (2022). Mackenzie has been selected as Player of the Game on two different occasions by Max Preps. Her profile includes her philosophy."I am a relentless defender who loves to guard the best player on opposing teams. I have a motor that keeps going and I do not quit. My quick first step on the offensive end allows me to get downhill and finish at the rim or dish it out to my teammates. I am a vocal leader both on and off the court. I led my high school team from an 0-10 region record as a freshman to an 8-2 record and into the elite eight as a junior. In my senior year, I am looking to lead my team and win a state championship." To date, Mackenzie has offers from the University of the Southwest and Scottsdale Community College. [player_tooltip player_id="137279" first="LeeLee" last="Willis"] is a five-foot-six combo guard who now plays for Compass Prep. She also plays for Arizona Select, her grassroots team. She recently transferred from Seton Catholic High School in Chandler. As a sophomore at SCHS, she helped win a state championship with a win over Sahuaro. In her freshman year, she averaged 9.4 points per game and improved that to 10.2 points per game as a sophomore. In December. 2019, she was awarded Player of the Game honors by Max Preps in a game against St. Mary’s. One scout commented on her game after a grassroots tournament. "She is one of the best defenders on the West Coast. She also showed her offensive skills with the three-point shot, pull-up jumper, and finishing around the rim." Another scout had this to say about LeeLee’s game. "She is a pit bull on defense, with great speed and acceleration to continually turn ball-handlers. She never eases off the pressure and doesn’t shy away from contact at either end of the court." Arizona Select, her AAU team, recently beat Arizona Elite in the Grand Invitational Championship. LeeLee is beginning to receive college offers - she has been offered scholarships to Lipscomb College, Loyola, and Western Colorado. She is ready for an outstanding senior season. [player_tooltip player_id="114259" first="Lilah" last="Moore"] is a five-foot-eight combo guard who plays for Arizona Elite Prep in Gilbert. She also plays for her grassroots team, Arizona Elite 17U. She recently signed with the University of Northern Colorado. Last season she averaged 11.3 points per game for AEP along with 4.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Lilah also shot 83% from the foul line. After her sophomore year at Pinnacle High School, she transferred to AEP. In 77 games for the Pinnacle Pioneers, she averaged 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds. While at Pinnacle, Lilah also competed on both the cross country and track and field teams. She is considered one of the state’s best ball handlers. One scout commented on her game. "She is a crafty guard, deceptive with a great change of pace. She can create her own shot as well as for her teammates. She can also shoot from range. Lilah possesses good perimeter size and length. She is a great athlete and versatile offensive player." She should have a great senior year as she prepares for her college career.
