Arizona prep girls have a list of outstanding power forwards in the class of 2022 including two from the same school - PHH Prep in Phoenix. Here’s a look at some of them. [player_tooltip player_id="137278" first="Saniyah" last="Neverson"] is a six-foot power forward for both PHH Prep and her club team, Arizona Select. A transfer from Valley Vista High School, she averaged 13.5 points per game as a sophomore for the Monsoon along with 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 steals. In 26 games over a two-year period for VVHS, Saniyah averaged 8.0 points and 9.0 rebounds. She also shot 52% from the floor as a freshman. The Monsoon has won four state championships in the last five years. She also recently committed to Northern Arizona University. Saniyah played extensively for Arizona Select over the summer. One scout commented on her game. "She showed the ability to do a little of everything; hit three’s, play off the elbow, set great screens, and become a crafty finisher. She also guards anyone 2-5 and traps in the full court." Another scout had this to say about her play over the summer. "She is a coach’s dream: coachable, sets 50 screens a game, has great hands, hits the timely three-point shot, and is a great offensive rebounder." Now she is ready for a breakout season as a senior at PHH Prep. [player_tooltip player_id="259102" first="Kishyah" last="Anderson"] is a five-foot-ten power forward who plays for both Mountain Pointe High Sxchool in Phoenix and her grassroots team, 602 Lady Nation. As a freshman, she averaged 8.4 points per game to go along with 4.7 rebounds. As a sophomore she averaged 13.3 points and through her first two years, has played in 35 games with a 9.3 scoring average. Kishyah was selected to the All-Conference Second Team as a sophomore. She also plays for the Lady Pride softball team. Kishyah played with her club team, 602 Lady Nation, throughout the spring and summer. One scout commented on her game. " She is an excellent finisher on the drive who has quick feet to get past anyone guarding her. She has an offensive arsenal and very intense defender and rebounder. She is also a good inside shooter who can hit the three-point shot." She is ready for an outstanding senior season. [player_tooltip player_id="73480" first="Talia" last="Dial"] is a five-foot-ten power forward who now plays for PHH Prep as well as her grassroots team, Arizona Select. She played her freshman and sophomore years at Dysart High School in El Mirage. As a freshman, she averaged 16.7 points per game and 4.8 rebounds. Both numbers improved her sophomore year - 21.3 points and 5.3 rebounds. Talia was named Dysart High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year after her sophomore season. She was also named 4A Black Canyon Regional Player of the Year. Talia was named Player of the Game a total of 18 different times by Max Preps when she was enrolled at Dysart. She then transferred to PHH Prep in July 2020 so could play out her last two years with the Panthers. An outstanding offensive player with a scorers' mentality, Talia is ready for her senior season as she prepares to play at the next level. By the way, she also is a volleyball player. [player_tooltip player_id="137283" first="Sierra" last="Mitchell"] is a six-foot-one power forward for Apollo High School in Glendale. She also plays for her club team, BSP. The Lady Hawks finished 12-6 overall last year and were 10-2 in the competitive 5A Division. Apollo lost to Sunrise in last March’s state tournament, 76-43. Sierra played in 27 games over a two-year period, averaging 4.4 points per game and 8.1 rebounds. She transferred to Apollo after her freshman year at Peoria High School. Last season she picked up a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Westwood High School. According to AZ Central, Sierra is one of the top fifty players in Arizona. Prep Girls Hoops had her listed as second-team All-State for the 2021-2022 campaign. She is an outstanding rebounder and defender and one scout had this to say about her game. "She is the big man for her team and likes to clean up/do the dirty work on the block." The Lady Hawks are loaded for this coming season and Sierra should come into her own.
