Jordan-Southeast Raleigh Game Report

Jordan vs. Southeast Raleigh was a high level defensive battle in the third game of the Southeast Raleigh Thanksgiving Showcase on Friday. It featured two high level guards that seemingly couldn’t be stopped throughout the game, but in the end, the Bulldogs prevailed 36-35 in their season opener. Whenever the Bulldogs needed a big play down the stretch of this game, Smith was involved whether it was creating for others or finding her own shot. Expect Smith to be one of the top players in Raleigh again this year. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="310738" first="Ziahmiya" last="Adams"] (Southeast Raleigh 2024 guard)</strong> 2024 guard [player_tooltip player_id="310738" first="Ziahmiya" last="Adams"] did a great job of running the Bulldogs offense throughout the contest making a number of key plays that made a difference. She impacted the game by not turning the ball over when it mattered most, rebounding, and ball-handling against great pressure defense from the Falcons. Southeast Raleigh has produced a number of great guards over the years and Adams could be next on that list. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="116908" first="Sydney" last="Barker"] (Jordan 2023 guard)</strong> 2023 guard [player_tooltip player_id="116908" first="Sydney" last="Barker"] is a fun player to watch and her recruiting stock is only growing. Her command of the offense and the way she controls the pace of the game makes her one of the top guards in the state. She can get past any defender off the dribble, finish in the paint, make threes, and defend well on the other end. <strong>Gabby Davis (Jordan 2022 guard)</strong> Gabby Davis is a talented senior guard that knocked down some big shots in the second half of this game. She defends well against guards and wings, rebounds well, and made a number of key hustle plays to help her team get extra possessions. With Barker and Davis in the backcourt, this Jordan team will be tough to beat as the season goes on.
