Girls basketball season in Michigan has tipped off and the excitement has began. With fans back in the stands, the players appear ready to perform on big stages. There have been some impressive individual outings very early in the season. Here is Part 1 of our looks at some players that had big games to open the year.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189288" first="Kennedy" last="Blair"] (2023, CG, Divine Child)</strong>
Blair will make a case for being one of the top perimeter players in the class of 2023 this season. She had 19 pts, 13 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals in a win over Riverview.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="253590" first="Emilynne" last="Braue"] (2022, PG, Goodrich)</strong>
Braue is ready to have a big senior season. She finished the game with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in victory against Davison.
<strong>Rylan Buschell (2025, PG, Belleville)</strong>
Buschell is one of the elite freshman in the state this year. She went off for 20 points in her first high school game, which was a 51-27 win over Romulus.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244300" first="Tayla" last="Dillard"] (2024, SG, Kalamazoo Central)</strong>
Dillard is one of the most improved players in Michigan. She had 13 points in a win over East Kentwood.
<strong>Savannah Fellenbaum (2024, PF, Lake Fenton)</strong>
Fellenbaum is a player to keep an eye on this season. She finished with a 16 point and 13 rebound double-double.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="281848" first="Gabby" last="Halliwill"] (2024, PG, Lansing Catholic)</strong>
Halliwill looked more than ready for her sophomore season. She scored 19 points in 65-29 win over Swan Valley.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="230784" first="Elyssa" last="Kincaid"] (2023, PF, Riverview)</strong>
The do-it-all forward had one of the most impressive early season games. She went off, scoring 32 points and snagging 14 rebounds in a loss against Divine Child.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="256566" first="Payton" last="Lee"] (2023, C, Anchor Bay)</strong>
Lee has looked terrific so far this season. She had 24 points, 16 rebound, and 3 block performance.
<strong>MaryKate McAuliffe (2022, SF, Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard)</strong>
McAuliffe sent is a message in an impressive win over Olivet. She finished the game with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244315" first="Sarah" last="Rekowski"] (2024, C, Hartland)</strong>
Rekowski will make a lot of noise this season. She looked impressive, just as she did at the Flight Hankamp Open Run, scoring 13 points, notching 7 rebounds and playing excellent post defense in a 6-49 victory over Grand Blanc.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147764" first="Gwen" last="Rogozinski"] (2022, CG, Stockbridge)</strong>
Rogozinski started the season off with a bang. She caught fire from behind the arc and went off for 30 points in loss to Dansville.
