This article is going to be focusing on the talent that has been shown throughout the first week of December in the Arizona Class AAAA.
Talia Dial Talia Dial 5'10" | PF PHH Prep | 2022 State AZ – Senior – 5’10″ – Dysart High School
Dial is a five-foot-ten senior this year for the Dysart Lady Demons who has been awarded the title of Captain for the 2021-2022 high school basketball season. The powerful combo guard is averaging 22.1 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game followed by 2.7 steals per game and 1.8 assists per game. The Lady Demons have started off the season with a 6-5 record after a tough 6-point loss to Higley High School earlier last week. In that game, Talia had a season-high of 30 points, she brought down 9 rebounds (3 offensive), had two steals, and a block. Although Dysart may not have come out on top, Dial is making her presence known at the beginning of the year.
Ayjianna Bonapart – Junior – 5’8″ – Sahuaro High School
Five-foot-eight junior guard for the Sahuaro Lady Cougars is Ayjianna Bonapart and she has helped lead her teammates to a very successful 5-0 start to the season. Bonapart is averaging 19.4 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game and, 4.0 steals per game to start off the month of December. The 23rd ranked team in the state has taken care of business over the last few games leaving no stone unturned and not giving the other teams much of a chance to try to come back. She had a double-double against Amphitheater High School (12/02) where she finished the game with 18 points and 11 rebounds (2 offensive) to win the game 58-40.
Tianna Reeder Tianna Reeder 5'10" | SF Estrella Foothills | 2022 State AZ – Senior – 5’10″ – Estrella Foothills High School
Another stand out five-foot-ten senior in the Class AAAA is Tianna Reeder Tianna Reeder 5'10" | SF Estrella Foothills | 2022 State AZ , captain for the Estrella Foothills Lady Wolves. So far this season she is averaging 13.1 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game. She is also averaging 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game as well. Reeder is a versatile player that can play at multiple positions successfully for her team. In a close one against Peoria High School (12/02), the Lady Wolves came out on top (51-45) with the help of a 20-point game by Tianna. She also finished the big win off with two three-pointers, 6 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal. This is going to be a great year for the senior.
Taliyah Henderson – Freshman – Salpointe Catholic High School
Freshman, Taliyah Henderson, out of Salpointe Catholic has been a key point of emphasis so far for the Lady Lancers after coming off of a loss in the State Championship game for the 2020-2021 high school basketball season. Henderson is averaging 11.3 points per game, 2.8 steals per game, and 2.3 rebounds per game to start off the year for the second-ranked team in the 4A Kino Region. In a 55 point win over Catalina Foothills (12/06), the freshman finished the game with 27 points, 4 rebounds (2 offensive) and, 2 steals to help push her team towards a bigger gap in the win. That game also holds her career-high thus far in a high school game.
Alize Grijalva – Junior – 5’3″ – Sahuarita High School
Grijalva is a five-foot-three junior that plays guard for the Sahuarita Lady Mustangs. To start off the 2021-2022 high school basketball season, Alize is averaging 10.5 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game and, 2.0 steals per game. In just a handful of games played so far, the junior guard is doing a great job of getting to the spot she needs to be into best help her teammates. She has knocked down 7 big three-pointers with only a handful of games into the season and is shooting 54% from behind the arc. Grijalva has a good head on her shoulders and will be a great addition to this team as an upperclassman this year.
