Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey continues its look at the upcoming New Jersey high school girls basketball season with a look at the top guards in the Tri-County Conference
Angelina BarreraAngelinaBarrera
6'0" | PF Gloucester Catholic | 2022StateNJ
- Senior, Gloucester Catholic
Barrera had a career year, a breakout year as a junior for the Rams, averaging a career-high 15.3 PPG and 22 points in a win over Pennsville in late February.
It looked like things were slowly building up to this point and finally, we got to see just what she can do as the cornerstone of a team.
There’s no stopping Barrera this season as we’re expecting those previous career-highs to be shattered as she competes for Player of the Year honors.
Imene FathiImeneFathi
5'4" | PG Wildwood | 2022StateNJ
- Senior, Wildwood
The senior had another fantastic season in the spring, averaging 14.5 PPG and just over 1.5 made three-pointers a game.
Fathi joined the 100 made three-pointer club as well and is on track to become a member of Wildwood’s 1000 point club before her senior season ends.
She’s become the heart and soul of this team over the past three seasons and Fathi is looking to end her senior season in style with final All-Conference season.
Riley Fulmer - Senior, Woodstown
Fulmer had the best season of her high school career in the spring, averaging 16.2 PPG, nearly 2.0 SPG and two made three-pointers a game.
In 13 games, Fulmer nearly equaled her entire three-point output from her sophomore year, where she played in 28 games.
If she was able to make those kinds of adjustments and maximize her offensive production that much in a smaller sample size, watch out this season.
Hope GoodwineHopeGoodwine
SF Highland | 2023StateNJ
- Junior, Highland
The junior was a main catalyst for Highland being one of the best feel-good stories of any team in the state last season.
She led the Tartans at 15.1 PPG, 5.1 APG and 5.5 SPG in the spring and either led or was a top-5 player in the conference in both assists and steals.
Goodwine has big triple-double potential and the fact that her stats last season were so balanced indicates that she’s going to be pushing that narrative over the next two seasons.
Ana PellecchiaAnaPellecchia
5'9" | SG Clearview | 2024StateNJ
- Sophomore, Clearview
Pellecchia burst onto the scene as a freshman for Clearview, immediately filling the roles left by Kassidy ThompsonKassidyThompson
5'9" | SG Camden Catholic | 2023StateNJ
and Aaryn BattleAarynBattle
5'8" | SF Camden Catholic | 2023StateNJ
, who both transferred before the season.
Her 14.0 PPG, 3.5 SPG and 2.3 made three-pointers a game were amongst the high marks in the conference, especially her three-point shooting.
There’s no question that Pellecchia now has a target on her back, but this is one of the top shooters in the conference and she’s only going to get better as her career goes.
Amaya BurchAmayaBurch
5'7" | SG Timber Creek | 2022StateNJ
- Senior, Timber Creek
Burch was absolutely electric as a junior for Timber Creek, leading the team in scoring at 18.5 PPG over 14 games played.
Her scoring average was amongst the best in the conference last season and she returns as Timber Creek’s star guard and an early All-Conference favorite.
There might not be a pure scorer in the conference better than her and we’ll get to see what type of show she’ll put on in her senior season.
