The playoffs ended with an elite set of teams making up the Final 4. Saginaw Heritage edged an excellent Wayne Memorial team by a score of 58-55. Defending champ Saginaw Heritage won a tight contest against Muskegon. The score was 54-50. In the championship game Saginaw Heritage defeated a talented Southfield A&T squad 55-40, securing a state title for the 2nd straight year.
The Division 1 basketball players displayed great skill and heart. The talent that we saw on the court was the result of endless hours of work over the entire year. It’s important to give some star players the credit that they deserve.

Player Of The Year
Moira Joiner Moira Joiner 5'9" | PG Saginaw Heritage | 2019 State MI (2019, PG, Saginaw Heritage)
Joiner is one of the toughest players you’ll find both physically and mentally. She’s willing and able to play and guard any position. Joiner was a Miss Basketball finalist and nominee for the McDonald’s All-American Game. She led Saginaw Heritage to back-to-back state championships.

Julia Ayrault Julia Ayrault 6'2" | SF Grosse Pointe North | 2019 State MI (2019, SF, Grosse Pointe North)
She has the size, strength, and skill needed to be ranked among the top 100 prospects in the country.
Alona Blackwell Alona Blackwell CG East Kentwood | 2019 State MI (2019, PG, East Kentwood)
The Oakland University signee had over 300 career assists.
Olivia Brown (2019, G, East Grand Rapids)
She’s one of the top all around players on the west side of the state.
Molly Davis Molly Davis 5'9" | CG Midland Dow | 2019 State MI (2019, G, Midland Dow)
The sharpshooter lit up scoreboards all season long.
Alexis Johnson Alexis Johnson 5'11" | PF Southfield A&T | 2019 State MI (2019, F, Southfield A&T)
The talented forward was critical in her teams run to the state championship game.
Kate McArthur Kate McArthur 5'8" | SG Warren Cousino | 2019 State MI (2019, SG, Warren Cousino)
The high major talent was a do-it-all leader for Warren Cousino.
Cheyenne McEvans Cheyenne McEvans 5'10" | CG Southfield A&T | 2020 State MI (2020, G, Southfield A&T)
McEvans is an aggressive offensive player that attacks the bucket off the dribble.
Aaliyah Nye Aaliyah Nye 5'11" | SF East Lansing | 2020 State MI (2020, CG, East Lansing)
Nye is one of the best athletes, not just in Lansing, but in all of Michigan.
Whitney Sollom Whitney Sollom 6'4" | PF Hartland | 2020 State MI (2020, F/C, Hartland)
She was a walking double-double even coming off an off-season surgery.
Shine Strickland-Gills Shine Strickland-Gills 6'1" | PF Saginaw Heritage | 2019 State MI (2019, PF, Saginaw Heritage)
She was a near unstoppable force in the paint for state champion Saginaw Heritage.
Destiny Strother Destiny Strother 5'9" | SG Flint Carman Ainsworth | 2019 State MI (2019, G, Flint Carman-Ainsworth)
She was one of the elite seniors in Michigan this season.
Jeanae Terry Jeanae Terry 5'11" | CG Wayne Memorial | 2019 State MI (2019, CG, Wayne Memorial)
Terry is a skilled and steady perimeter player that led her team to the state Final 4.
Arieonna Ware Arieonna Ware 6'0" | SF Battle Creek Central | 2021 State MI (2021, Wing, Battle Creek Central)
She’s a top notch scorer and rebounder who’s talent spoke loudly this season.
Morasha Wiggins Morasha Wiggins 6'0" | SF Kalamazoo Central | 2021 State #42 Nation MI (2021, PG, Kalamazoo Central)
Wiggins is a special player that has great court vision and knows when to take over offensively.
Del’Janae Williams Del’Janae Williams CG Detroit King | 2019 State MI (2019, G, Detroit King)
Williams was one of the top scoring guards in southeastern Michigan.
Alyza Winston Alyza Winston 5'8" | PG Muskegon | 2019 State MI (2019, PG, Muskegon)
She’s a tough and athletic lead guard that did whatever it took to make a deep playoff run.
