I want to reiterate that I was at the event on day 2 and part of day 3, so if some teams/players are omitted, it is because I didn't catch them Ashlyn Martin-5’7 (Mansfield) Martin came up with steals galore, showing good hands and timing or playing the passing lane yet her on-the-ball defense was solid but so was her attacking the basket to either score or dish. Her court vision didn’t stop there as she saw the floor in transition and showed she could drop the jumper consistently Sydney Young-5’6 (Heritage) Young brings energy galore when she steps on the floor and that energy level stays the same from start to finish and speaking of finish, she did that well as she scored off the dribble and completed the play after contact but she also did a good job of mixing it up and showing she could knock down the jumper [player_tooltip player_id="206966" first="Victoria" last="Barrera"]-5’7 (Amarillo) Barrera is heady and did a good job at both guard spots but watching her understand how to not only get hers in the flow but set her teammates up for baskets was nice. She can drop the mid to long-range while being defended, yes I know that but her defense definitely gave me a different view as she applied plenty of heat TaMaiya Mims-5’6 (Mansfield Timberview) Mims goes hard off the dribble and watching her attack and finish powerfully, especially at her size was nice but she also did a good job of applying pressure on the defensive end, on the ball, baseline to baseline but let me also add that she handled the ball and saw the floor well, both under pressure Crishawn Coleman-5’9 (Mansfield Timberview) Coleman has good size and a good feel for the game as in she understands how to set the defender up with a deceptive first step, this enables her to get to the basket or just drop the pull-up and with her ability to also knock down the long ball, well that keeps the defender honest Azariah Bryant-5’9 (Lewisville Hebron) Bryant uses her athleticism nicely as she can attack off the dribble and finish after the lick yet she sets the defender up with a variety of moves as well as her first step but it also helps that she can drain the jumper, with a hand in her face. She rebounds and defends, good upside Dana Gingrey-5’6 (Lewisville Hebron) Gingrey is one of those "never takes a play off" types of players that deserve the #THROWBACK hashtag for diving after loose balls, either on the floor or in the stands yet she also did a good job of scoring, first, her powerful finishes after attacking were nice but she also showed she could drain the long ball [player_tooltip player_id="204186" first="Avari" last="Berry"]-5’6 (Pflugerville) Berry probably wonders why I can’t spell her first name correctly, well it took me a decade to get her school right yet the important thing is I have her game on the money, which is what she was which is why she made All-Tournament. Her long-range caught my eye before she played her first middle school game yet watching her toy with the defender to score off the dribble multiple ways was nice Jaida Gomez-5’6 (Pflugerville) Gomez always makes me think of that TV show, the Addams Family, because that was the lead actors name and one of the show’s catchphrases, YOU RANG, has become common because she makes the bell sound, her release is quick and fluid, well accurate too but she also showed the midrange as well as "off the dribble" to score Arianna Baldwin-5’6 (Pflugerville) Baldwin did a good job of handling the ball under pressure and seeing the floor but she also added offense another way other than assisting, she scored off the dribble, explosive first step, and she dropped the jumper, from mid to long-range but when you add her ability to trap on defense as well as "man-up" ...
