<p class="p1">Week 1 of 2022 has already been fun to watch at the high school level.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Here are some of the guards in the senior and junior classes already starting off on the right foot this year.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="260167" first="Eva" last="Butler"]</b> (Providence, G, 2022) was dominant on the defensive side of the ball grabbing steals and blocking shots.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her offensive game is expanding knocking down shots from deep and driving to both sides of the hoop.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She was scoring three points the old fashioned way, too.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Her offensive rebounds late in the game against Independence helped to seal the comeback victory for the Panthers.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="116912" first="Zoe" last="Henderson"]</b> (Julius Chambers, G, 2023) continues to show how she can do it all.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She had some nice drives to the paint putting up floaters for some points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She does well battling through contact, and she sees the court finding her open teammates for their own points.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="254583" first="Nevaeh" last="Farmer"]</b> (North Meck, G, 2023) is such an efficient point guard finding ways to get smart passes into her teammates for their own points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She uses her speed to push the ball up the court, and she can run the floor catching passes in transition herself to score some points.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She’s a tough defender making sure to block the path and ball for her opponents.</p>
<p class="p1"><b>Dearia Page</b> (North Meck, G, 2023) showed off her ability to hit jump shots after pulling up on drives to the basket.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She’s a tough defender knocking the ball away from her opponents to push it up the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>It seems that you can watch her grab steals on repeat each game that she plays, and she knows the best way to score off of these turnovers.</p>
