Mason Borcherding Mason Borcherding Mason Borcherding 6'1" | PF Legend | 2025 State CO has dominated the playoffs thus far with emphatic performances that showcase her dynamic style of play. Recently, she’s been a massive contributor for Legend on the glass and in between passing lanes. Borcherding is tenacious when following her shot and never lets off the gas pedal. For these reasons, Legend upset #2 ranked Valor Christian in the Great 8, and Legend is moving on to the Final Four.

Mason has been a nightmare for teams in the paint, using her wide array of post moves to score with ease. Her ability to play with her back to the basket is complemented by her ball-handling skills on the wing, where she can also stretch the defense by knocking down three-pointers. This versatility has made her a constant scoring threat, no matter where she is on the floor. Mason’s presence in the post and on the perimeter has been a key reason why Legend High School has been so tough to beat.

Mason was a dominant force for Legend in their game against Desert Vista, controlling the game from start to finish. The skilled post player imposed her will in the paint, scoring at will and crashing the boards relentlessly. Her ability to ignite transition opportunities and anchor the defense made her indispensable. Mason’s impact was felt in every facet of the game, setting the tone for her team.

Mason, also from Legend, has shown steady improvement over the past three years and is set to make a big impact. She’s an active paint presence who demands the ball and isn’t easily turned away by defenders. With improved shooting, Mason has become a reliable option on the wing as well as in the post. Her continued development will provide Legend with a versatile inside-out threat.

Mason is an energetic player who can score from all over the court, whether it’s on the block, from mid-range, or behind the arc. Her defensive intensity translates into steals and blocks, which fuel her team’s transition game. Mason’s ability to disrupt opponents and create scoring opportunities for herself makes her invaluable on both sides of the ball. Her versatility keeps her constantly involved in the action.

Having a player like Mason buy into the system is quiet the testament to the strength and depth of her GRIT team. Mason was a force to be reckoned with in the paint and even able to create for herself off the dribble at times with a favorable matchup. When she wasn’t scoring on the offense end of the floor she was controlling the glass on the defensive end of the floor. With the performances she was able to have this season, she will surely be looking to carry that over into the season.

Although a common name on this site, Borcherding’s routine production as both a facilitator and efficient shotmaker have drawn her interest from a wide array of programs these past few months. Remaining a high motor rebounder with improved strength to defend the post, she is set for a big year yet again for Legend.

A steady and impactful frontcourt option for Legend, Borcherding was all over the glass, securing second chance opportunities or holding onto the box out. One of the more alert passers not only in the 2025 class but among all frontcourt athletes in the state, Borcherding constantly has her head on a swivel. Efficient with either hand in the paint following a pivot move with or without contact. Comfortable stepping into the 15-foot jumper when provided space, she has been capable of rising up for those spot-up attempts above the contest when available.

Borcherding looked to draw fouls versus a wide variety of frontcourt opponents, effectively making plays against contact and the pressure of multiple defenders. She is rarely sped up, dependable to make the extra pass when necessary. Effective at either the 4 or 5 due to her assertive passing and high motor on the glass, Borcherding remains one of the best frontcourt prospects in this 2025 class.

One of the premier 6A forwards this season, Borcherding’s impact on the glass and the halfcourt offense has been essential to Legend’s recent success. Landing in the top-20 in 6A for rebounds per game, at 8, she brings both a high motor alongside the consistent use of the fundamentals. Out of the post, she keeps her head up to make timely kickouts or skip passes should help arrive.
