[player_tooltip player_id="279314" first="Destiny" last="Shepherd"] - Destiny is a college level guard, as she’s committed to Concordia. Three-point shooter that plays aggressive on-ball defense. Hit a crucial three late in the game with about 3:20 left in the game to trim the deficit.</span>
[player_tooltip player_id="279313" first="Mattie" last="Pohl"] - Mattie has had better games as a big part of York’s offense. She’s a Doane commit, so she can play. A shooter at an off-guard spot, and can keep things moving off the dribble as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="279330" first="Kiersten" last="Portwine"] - Kiersten is a very impressive 2024 guard in the state. Handles the ball well and is a legitimate three-point threat. She can create her own shot and opportunities as well. She handled the point over Shepherd, with Destiny more of a primary 2 and a secondary 1 (point guard). I have Kiersten set to move up dramatically in the next rankings update.
[player_tooltip player_id="156323" first="Anna" last="Briggs"] - A transfer from Quinter in Kansas, Anna has great size and length at 6’2. Her frame and build was a little stronger than I had anticipated previously. Somewhat of a finesse PF/C but can also get good inside positioning and pin a body. Her best contributions to York might be her ability to protect the rim and block shots. Needs development offensively to be a more consistent and confident finisher.
[player_tooltip player_id="279319" first="Masa" last="Scheierman"] - The South Dakota State University volleyball commit can play some basketball too. Showed nimble and agile feet at such a great size. Advanced with the ball on the dribble for her size as well. Showed the ability to drive from the three-point line and get near hoop opportunities.
[player_tooltip player_id="297857" first="Tatum" last="Rusher"] - Tatum is a huge part of Kearney’s success as a team. She’s a three level scorer that loves to attack and put pressure on the defense. She usually commands help defense off the bounce. She’s a relentless attacker and doesn’t let negative plays stop her from her aggressive mindset. College level player.
[player_tooltip player_id="374841" first="Kierstynn" last="Garner"] - Kierstynn is an electric, high energy guard. Kierstynn is a difference-making guard. She hit a pair of impressive step-back threes in the first half to give the offense some life. Handles the point spot and loves to dribble with speed and acceleration up-court. The opposing on-ball defender usually gets gassed trying to stay with and defend her for a full game.
[player_tooltip player_id="374990" first="Kennidy" last="Garner"] - Only a Sophomore, she most likely takes on the [player_tooltip player_id="374841" first="Kierstynn" last="Garner"] role after this season. Similar playing style, but Kennidy seems to have slightly more size.
[player_tooltip player_id="374843" first="Kaleigh" last="Hatcher"] - Kaleigh has good size and good athletic ability at 6’1. She can step out and shoot the three a little if given space. Goes at the hoop from the top. Can roam on the outside offensively and defend on the inside with her size and jumping ability. A strong rebounder that finds and tracks the ball well.
