Isabel passed 1,000 career points on Feb. 13th, which is a significant feat considering Izzy missed time sophomore year due to ACL surgery. Izzy is putting an exclamation point on her career with an outstanding senior season for the Dragons. She leads the team in points and rebounds most nights. She has several 20-point games including a 32 against Groves and 27 against St. Mary’s Prep. Izzy will be an exciting guard to watch at Calvin in the future.

Izzy was firing on all cylinders for Lake Orion at the Laker MLK Classic and her performance helped keep the team within striking distance most of the game. Izzy sliced through the defense with her aggressive downhill drives to score several layups, buried mid-range jumpers off the dribble, converted free throws, stole passes, and knocked down 3s. Some of her top plays included two emphatic and-one drives and a shifty crossover straightaway triple off the bounce. Izzy scored 27 points against a ranked St. Mary’s Prep team and I enjoyed being in the gym to see her best basketball on display.

Izzy looks ready to lead the Dragons again in 2024 after an impressive travel season, committing to Calvin University. Izzy is a sniper from the perimeter and has excellent footwork around the basket. She drives through defenders to finish contested shots and handles the ball with poise under pressure. Izzy has a great opportunity to lead and inspire the future of Lake Orion’s program this season. She will shoulder a heavy load offensively for the Dragons as they look to compete against tough OAA Red Divisional opponents.

Wotlinski had a fantastic third day at The Select Super Showcase. She managed to split the defense multiple times to drive to the basket, made several shots from behind the arc, secured some defensive rebounds, and efficiently moved the ball down the floor with precise passes. Lizzie received a couple of offers this week following her outstanding performance over the weekend.

Wotlinski is simply a player that more scouts and coaches need to see play. I know everyone would be impressed. I like the physicality that Wotlinski can play with as well as her jumper with range that extends beyond the arc. She’s am excellent rebounding guard that reads the ball off the rim.

Wotlinski is a well rounded player that can threaten a points and rebounds double-double in any game. She excels playing off contact, which seems very transferable to the next level.
