All Iowa Attack 17U EYBL lost their first game of EYBL Nike Nationals to the EYCL play-in team out of Chicago, the Wolverinas . One of the players that kept the Attack in it was Ashlyn Koupal. Koupal is a SF that loves to shoot the three ball. She did that pretty well as things dwindled down in the 4th of this first game to stay steady, hit big shots, and defend at a solid rate. I would say she was one of the only prospects for the Attack that was efficient in multiple facets of the game and that was notable as things came to an end. Koupal is going to be a killer at the D1 P4 level. If she expands her game over time to more of an inside presence, watch out.

One of the best shooters in the Country for her position was at it again this weekend on the EYBL Circuit. Ashlyn Koupal made the move to All Iowa Attack EYBL this Spring season and she has been putting on a clinic with her new program. Koupal is a high-end SF with coordination, balance, and a ton of skill. Offensively, she can light the net on fire from three in the blink of an eye, she can work within 15FT for simple looks at the rim or she can work within the midrange. In one specific game this past few days Koupal went nuts on both side of the floor. She finished things off with a game high 10-13 shooting from the field, including going 7-10 from behind the three point arc. Koupal is a walking bucket at 6’3. She is going to be a hell-of-a-get for whichever program she chooses. Whoever that might be.

because of how well I saw her compete this past Spring so I won’t touch on her play-style too much but this is a top rated recruit in the country out of SD. She has fantastic size at 6’2-6’3, she can shoot the leather off of the ball, and she doesn’t seem to only rely on one part of her game. Instead, she can really do it all on both ends of the court. She can be a game changer with her offensive ability or she can get double-digits in rebounds and blocks before halftime if she is really motivated. This past six months, she has taken the country by storm and I’m hoping she can build on that moving into this Fall at Wagner High School.

compete with a different basketball team than usual, that was put together for the weekend with some really impressive prospects that usual compete with
Sanford Sports Academy
. Throughout this weekend, I found out that Koupal was a top ranking recruit in the nation out of the 2026 Class and it’s really easy to see why. At 6’3, she can really do anything asked of her on both sides of the ball while competing with determination and a high motor. Offensively, she can step out and knock down shots from deep off the catch/dribble or she can screen and roll to the hoop for an easy bucket over a weaker defender near the paint. Defensively, she can switch 1-5 at the moment and she gets her hands on a lot of tips/deflections because of her ability to recover to the rim at a quick rate on or off the ball. This is someone that has almost every recruiter in the country after her at the moment so I’m sure you’ll be hearing about her on a national level before you know it.

of Heiser Basketball 2025 is a future D1 basketball player with her mixture of size, skill, and athleticism. Koupal stands at around 6’3 and she can shoot the leather off of the basketball. Whenever she sets up to let a shot go from any distance, it’s a thing of beauty and that was on full display this weekend at this event. Koupal was one of the first prospects I sat down in the gym to watch and she blew me away. She has great size for her age, she doesn’t mind being physical, she can shoot from any distance away from the hoop and it always looks like it’s going in, and she is a willing passer when running in transition or off of the block whenever she catches. When taking everything into consideration, this may be my top prospect of the weekend as a whole. The things she demonstrated were Division-1 esk, per se. The only thing that I didn’t see from her was a dominant post up game, which I’m sure she has buried somewhere in her arsenal. If she takes care of business in the paint, while being able to step out and spread the floor like I saw throughout this weekend, I’m sure that there would be a good amount of Power-5 programs that would want her services once she graduates high school. This Heiser Basketball program is a special one. They come from South Dakota and their coach, Blake Heiser, runs great action on both sides of the floor, while always staying positive it seems. This may only be the beginning of this program but if they keep putting prospects on the hardwood like Koupal, they are going to take this country by storm before you know it.
