The Cane Bay HS Lady Cobras made the drive over from Summerville to Mount Pleasant last night. The Lady Cobras improved to (18-3) on the season with a region road victory in the Chop House 48-39. Too Much Jenkins and Nettles Time after time this season [player_tooltip player_id="185227" first="Jasmine" last="Jenkins"] and [player_tooltip player_id="185226" first="Alaina" last="Nettles"] have answered the bell for the Lady Cobras. Jenkins and Nettles both scored 18 points apiece this evening in the Lady Cobras victory. Jenkins established herself early in the game knocking down some three pointers to get the Lady Cobras moving. Nettles logs a lot of minutes in the backcourt was able to slash to the cup and finish drives all night long. Alaina at times looked to put the offense on her back with pesky play in the passing lanes and ball-hawking ability all night long. The duo of Jenkins and Nettles makes this Lady Cobras team go. How far can they carry the squad in the Class 5A Playoffs next month? Lady Warriors Inside Play [player_tooltip player_id="377333" first="Emma" last="Sanders"] and [player_tooltip player_id="297859" first="Taylor" last="Brown"] both stand over 6-feet-0 tall down in the paint for the Lady Warriors. Sanders was highly efficient all night long with her play on the boards and around the paint. Emma a left-handed post player moves extremely well around the floor while staying active on glass on both ends. She has good footwork which also helps her excel on the volleyball court for legendary Head Coach Alexis Glover. Brown really does a good job of keeping the ball up high after claiming it off the glass. Taylor has a nice set of hands to catch everything thrown her way down in the paint. These two ladies will both be back next year for the Lady Warriors. Lady Warriors Backcourt [player_tooltip player_id="381806" first="Ava" last="Curry"] couldn’t catch fire tonight for the Lady Warriors. Curry finished with 5 points late in the 4th quarter. Curry an off guard shared a lot of the duties tonight for the Warriors in the backcourt. 8th Grader Alert here - [player_tooltip player_id="381807" first="Malaya" last="Mazyck"] saw good minutes tonight for Wando HS and is just an 8th grader playing at the Class 5A level. Wando HS really misses the senior leadership of [player_tooltip player_id="124098" first="Dylan" last="Silber"] who has been out all year with an injury. Depth Down The Road Can the Lady Cobras make a deep run into the playoffs? The Lady Cobras don't play many bodies on given nights. Very talented team that really relies on a solid starting 5. We shall see come next month in the SCHSL Playoffs.
