Tina-Avalon defeated Higbee in the first semifinal with Braymer defeating Brunswick in the second semifinal. Here is a look at the top standouts from Thursday night’s action.
Regan Crowe (Tina-Avalon): The 2023 guard scored a game-high 21 points before fouling out in T-A’s victory over Higbee. Not only was she a bucket-getter, but she was the team’s primary ball handler and playmaker. She’s strong with the basketball against pressure and she did an excellent job of weaving in and out of traffic in the lane. to score. She mad a pair of 3-pointers and she also got herself to the free throw line several times.
Kadie Rounkles Kadie Rounkles 5'5" | CG Tina-Avalon | 2023 State MO (Tina-Avalon): The 2023 forward scored 16 points in the semifinal victory over Higbee. She’s an excellent offensive player in the post with good footwork and a nice shooting touch. She is mobile and can also run the court for transition buckets. It was the second time I watched her play and she has been one of the more impressive players that I’ve watched in the NWMO area.
Ronnie Welch (Higbee): A 5’9″ 2025 guard who scored a team-high 19 points in the semifinals. She has excellent speed and was very effective in the transition game. She played the passing lanes well and had good anticipation on the full-court press defense. She moves without the ball well and she hustled for offensive rebounds and putbacks. She is part of a very talented young group of players at Higbee.
Raylee Hawkins (Braymer): A 5’6″ 2023 guard who is a good athlete who plays with good speed and activity. She excelled on both ends of the court and she played strong defense to force turnovers and get into the transition game.
Cadence Meyer (Brunswick): A 5’9″ 2025 forward who was very impressive in the semifinals against Braymer. I like how she highpoints her rebounds at the top of her jump and she keeps the ball high. She also challenges shots inside on a regular basis. As the game went on, she started to show her ball handling skills and she knocked down a trail 3-pointer in the transition game.
Abby Jones (Tina-Avalon): A 2024 point guard who displayed some very good passing skills. She did a nice job feeding the post to the inside players and she dropped some excellent dimes on the move in the transition game. She also scored 13 points in the victory over Higbee.
