4A State Title Favorites + Top Dark Horse

The regional playoff and a preview of what the state tournament brackets can look like are officially live on the WIAA website. In this preview article we will take a look at the favorites in the 4A class as well as the dark horse looking to surprise some people.

4A Class Favorites:

Bracket Link Here Favorites: Woodinille High School (#1 Seed) - The Lady Falcons have been regulars in the state tournament for many years now, but winning a 4A title has slipped away from them each time. 2022 D1 signees (Boise State) and (San Diego) are seniors now and look to lead them to the finish they have long been looking for. 2023 and 2024 are couple of other players that can really step up and help this group get over the hump. Sumner High School (#2 Seed) - This senior group once won the 8th grade feeder ball state championship and they will now look to do so at the biggest stage. 2022 Dixie State signees and are going to hold their own and/or out play any post prospects presented to them. There are not many dominant post prospects throughout the state like past years, so they are in prime position to dominate the glass and scoring inside. 2022 is a guard to keep an eye on. If the backcourt steps up and hits some big shots this crew could take home a 4A title. Dark horse: Pasco High School (#3 Seed) - Pasco may be a three seed, but there is not much of a sense around the state that Pasco can win a state title. These girls are on a mission to prove all doubters wrong and this chip on their shoulder could be the separator from some other programs outside of the favorites to win it all. One of the state’s top PG’s will have to be in the 18-20 point scoring mark each game. 2023 MCC defensive player of the year , 2022 and 2022 will all have to play their game and play smart basketball in crucial moments.
