With the state tournament having concluded, and with graduations just a couple of months away, I wanted to take the time to look at the uncommitted 2022 prospects who remain available in Indiana. Below I have highlighted five specific prospects from the power forward and center positions, but I’ve also indicated all remaining frontline players from our rankings list of 250 prospects in the Class of 2022. To the best of my knowledge, and from all of the information I’ve been able to gather via college coaches, high school & grassroots coaches, and the internet, these prospects below are still uncommitted at this time. If you see someone listed below who you know is committed (<em>or has already chosen a college destination, even if for another sport or strictly for academics</em>), please DM us on Twitter @PGHIndiana and let us know. Thank you in advance for your help!
<span style="font-size: 10pt;">(<em>The ranking numbers listed below are out of all 250 total 2022 prospects we have listed, regardless of position.</em>)</span>
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>59. [player_tooltip player_id="128137" first="Katie" last="Bremer"], 5-11 PF/SF, Cathedral H.S.</strong></span>
- Katie is one of the new-age, hybrid type of forwards who does a little of everything well, and she can play at all three levels effectively. She made quite an impression last Summer, flashing great length, wiry strength, fluid athleticism, and some bounce. She has a solid handle and can attack the basket North/South, she can knock down the occasional perimeter jumper, but she’s highly productive in the mid-post as well. What I like most about her, is that she can defend forwards and wings, plus some bigger guards at times. She is a small college’s dream because of her versatility, so she could be quite a find at this point in the process.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>93. [player_tooltip player_id="128155" first="Kylah" last="Lawson"], 5-10 PF/SF, Columbus North H.S.</strong></span>
- Kylah is another long, fluidly athletic, and versatile forward. She has actually spent time initiating/running the offense for the Bull Dogs in the past, so she does possess solid ball skill and vision. As she has grown and gained strength over the last four years, her confidence seems to have grown with it. I like her a lot when she plays in the mid-post because of her ability to get to the rim or knock down the 15-footer. But if she can continue developing her perimeter skillset, especially her 3-point jump-shot, I really think she has enough talent and potential to be a really nice "steal" as a Spring recruit.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><b>173. [player_tooltip player_id="267404" first="Chloe" last="Churilla"], 5-11 PF, Highland H.S.</b></span>
- Chloe is a tough-nosed, high-motor, physical forward who simply out-hustles her matchups on most nights. She has an athletically strong frame, she moves well North/South, and she seeks contact first. She’s good on the block, great in pick-and-roll situations, plus she’s an effective rebounder at both ends of the floor. Very few people outside of her circle know this, but she likely builds up her stamina in the pool, as she has doubled in Winter sports as both a hooper and a swimmer each year throughout her high school career. She definitely strikes me as the type of power forward many local small colleges covet.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>225. [player_tooltip player_id="377041" first="Emma" last="Gerdt"], 6-1 PF, Valparaiso H.S.</strong></span>
- Emma is the middle of three sisters, and this year she shared the floor with Sophomore sibling [player_tooltip player_id="369832" first="Becca" last="Gerdt"]. Older sister Ari Gerdt was a 2018 grad who played briefly at Indiana Wesleyan before hanging it up due to injuries. Emma is an extremely long, wiry, and active forward. Valpo used her in the middle of their 1-3-1 to cause problems with her length, but offensively she also showcases a nice mid-post game. She can put it on the floor one to two dribbles and get somewhere productively, but she also has nice touch to 17-feet. Her height and length alone are intriguing, but add in her skill and ability, and she can impact a small college roster.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">241. [player_tooltip player_id="377052" first="Alexus" last="Thomas"], 5-11 PF, Rochester Community H.S.</span>
</strong>- This Winter was my first opportunity to see Lexi play, and she definitely has some intrigue from a small college perspective. She has a fairly strong frame, some length, and she plays with a motor. I also like her willingness to seek contact and play physical, and she will box out hard or chase down boards. Defensively, she competes with ’4s’ and ’5s’ both, but offensively she plays in different spots. Sometimes she’ll use her athleticism and array of post-moves on the block, but she’s also a nice mid-post threat. Her style of play...the physicality paired with the constant motor...are what many Midwestern coaches enjoy.
