The Campbellsville signee looked good in the game I watched. She is pretty much automatic once she establishes deep position inside. Her size and length made her a tough assignment for the defense. Abby gets up and down the floor well and is a really good rebounder on both ends.

Gilbert did a great job guarding 34. Showed off her passing by collapsing the D and kicking to shooters. Stayed solid all game, and with 5:00 took a handoff downhill for a huge and-1 finish. Very active on the glass and defensively. Great motor.

An old school post that can play with her back to the basket. Nice drop step into a right hand finish. When she catches deep, she’s gonna get a bucket.

Abby Gilbert Abby Gilbert 6'2" | PF Jackson County | 2025 State KY stands at 6’2″ and is a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court. Gilbert is one of the top 50 scorers and rebounders in the state averaging 19.1 PPG and 10.1 RPG. She has several great performances this season, including a game against Pineville, where she had 32 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. She is skilled, agile, moves well for her size, and a versatile scorer that can score with her back to the basket, off the dribble, and make shots from the perimeter. Gilbert is a good passer from the post, solid rim protector and an outstanding rebounder that gets a lot of put back buckets and provides second chance scoring opportunities for her team.

Gilbert not only is talented, but she really works when she’s on the floor. She plays on a team that actually has a true center, something that is somewhat rare in high school hoops, so the fact that she is 6th in rebounding at 11.8 RPG is actually beyond impressive. Gilbert also has the 12th best field goal percentage (59.3%) and is tied for 30th in scoring (17.9 PPG). She’s another player who would probably be towards the top of the leaderboards in blocked shots as well because she does a great job of moving her feet and keeping her arms straight up to get blocks without fouling.

Gilbert has started off her sophomore season as strong as anyone. In her 1st 2 games, she averaged 23 PPG and 15.5 RPG. She obviously has excellent length, but she is also so versatile and fearless. One of the most impressive parts of her game is her decision making and efficiency. She finished the season with one of the highest field goal percentages in the state at 61.2%. She’s shot 64.3% through her 1st 2 games this season, so she’s on pace to do the same thing as a sophomore. Gilbert can score in the post or she can knock down jump shots.
