The 2024 class is loaded with talented ballplayers. Throughout our rankings, you will find dynamic young ladies who can shoot the rock. From showing off their range to attacking the rim, the 24’s are primed and ready to do big things the next couple of years. This year we saw young ladies turn the corner as they were given more on-court opportunities. Coaches entrusted their club in the hands of these individuals, so they ran with it. The 24’s set some pretty unprecedented records that may or may not be broken. It’s hard to remember if there was such a class across the state where girls did so much early on in their high school career. Either way, I’m still going to brag on them because of all their accomplishments thus far. In this article, here are a few young ladies who go about their work quietly. They play pivotal roles in their team’s success, yet just love to hoop. It’s not about accolades with them, but more about playing basketball for the love of the game. Sometimes, their name can get overlooked. Here are a few standouts from the class of 2024 that are under the radar prospects. [player_tooltip player_id="245363" first="Bre’Aria" last="Cannon"] (5’11/SG/So./ Webb-Bell Buckle)- Sat out most of the season due to transferring. When given the opportunity to play during the state tournament, BC came on the scene and made a huge splash. She has deceptive speed where she utilizes it to take advantage on getting to the rim and shooting the mid-range. She can knock down the 3 ball consistently. She uses her length to create havoc, which leads to turnover opportunities. Look for her to have an outstanding summer and when it comes HS basketball season, she will be one of the leading catalyst to extend the Lady Feet’s championship streak. [player_tooltip player_id="245365" first="Jazz" last="Walters"] (5’8/SF/ So./ East Nashville)- Just like the music, her game is smooth. This young lady has the oncourt presence that screams success. Great kid who can feed teammates, score the rock, and defend with the best of them. Fierce competitor who plays the game with a tenacious attitude. Does the little things from rebounds, going after loose balls, saving balls from going out of bounds, just anything that gives her team an edge. Doesn’t back down from competition, always up to a challenge. A positionless player who is dynamic on both ends of the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="245366" first="Josie" last="Horner"] (6’2/C/So./Northview)- Big anchor in the middle who is fundamentally sound on both ends. Brings a big presence to her matchups. Nice footwork around the block area. Cleans up the boards on the offensive end. On defense, blocks shots, clogs lanes, pretty much creates a “Do Not Enter” area down low. Great communicator who helps position her teammates on the defensive side. Look for her to attract the eyes of coaches as she goes up against some tough competition on the road this summer. [player_tooltip player_id="290713" first="Hallie" last="Turner"] (5’4/CG/So./ Briarcrest)- Nice floor general who makes the right plays when the ball is in her hands. Has a quick first step that allows her to slice through defense. Has a nice floater game, can knock down shots, and get to the rim with ease. Plays hard on the defensive end, where she pokes balls loose from her opponents. Heady player who has incredible instincts. [player_tooltip player_id="290953" first="Angel" last="Martin"] (5’9/CG/So./Clarksville)- Fierce competitor who plays the game fast. A hustler who is a lockdown defender and is notorious for stealing the ball and getting deflections. Runs the floor well, creating a “Showtime” duo with [player_tooltip player_id="245352" first="Imari" last="Berry"] up in Clarksville. Angel can score the rock from all 3 levels. Quiet in demeanor, but her game is loud. No matter the opponent, Angel is always locked in and ready to compete.
