Here are some evals on the girls in this list for those we have seen this season and during the summer club seasons, hope you enjoy.
Co-MVP – Sheridan Kennedy – Kennedy has all the tools to develop into a solid scoring wing once she reaches the high school level. She already looks like a comfortable scorer even while playing against players older than her and already in high school. As an eighth-grader, she can already handle the ball well and attack her defender off the dribble. When she’s able to get into the paint, she can draw contact well and get herself to the free-throw line.
Co-MVP – Isabel Gomez Isabel Gomez 5'8" | PG Sage Hill HS | 2022 State CA – Isabel is one of the leaders on this team and she showed it the few times we watched this team this season. They lost a few to Crean Lutheran, but they made the most of it. She has good size for a guard/forward and showed us some skill set as well as being a decent defender. She is gonna be one to watch this season if it happens, but we are excited to watch the growth of her game whenever she steps back onto the court.
Shea Joko Shea Joko 5'5" | PG Orange Lutheran | 2024 State CA – When I saw Joko, she looked like she had the tools to be a solid point guard at the high school level. She runs the offense well, especially in the half court. She looks for her teammates and makes the right pass. Knows when to look to score. She has a solid shot from long-range. She can step into her shot on a spot up or pull up for a jumper on the break.
Taylor Feldman Taylor Feldman 5'7" | SG Crean Lutheran HS | 2022 State CA – Leader of her team, she is dynamic on with or without the ball, she can score in droves and is one the better players in the event. She is naturally a scorer, but they have her playing the point guard, she can help at that spot, but her attributes as a player is best at the scoring guard. She can score from all three levels and is a threat to score from anywhere on the floor, she is yet to be committed, but the way she is playing will bring something her way. Coaches take a good look at this one, she is really good.
Tatum Tamashiro Tatum Tamashiro 5'8" | SF Rolling Hills Prep | 2022 State CA – is capable of switching between both shooting guard and small forward and she can handle the ball well. She can initiate the offense in halfcourt sets and does a good job keeping the ball moving from side to side. Not really a point guard, but can be the primary playmaker. She has great vision can find open teammates. Does a good job handling the ball under defensive pressure. Her shot was a little off, but you can tell she’s a capable three-point shooter.
Ashley Chea Ashley Chea 5'6" | PG Flintridge Prep HS | 2023 State CA – Chea is one of the most entertaining players that I have ever watched. I remember watching her play in a preseason tournament her freshman year. I was surprised to find out that she was just an underclassman. Chea carries herself different on the court. She is a dynamic player who has a very high IQ. She is pretty crafty finishing around the rim. She has a smooth pull-up jump shot. She also has three-point range.
Larissa Robles Larissa Robles 5'6" | CG Sonora HS | 2023 State CA – Robles is pretty good 3&D player. She’s a lights out shooter from deep. She does a good job of moving without the ball and getting herself open on the perimeter. She knocks down threes with confidence and consistency. Squares up and lets it fly. Can also take a couple dribbles in and shoot from midrange. She’s a good on ball defender. She sliders her feet well and keeps up with the ball-handler; forces them into passes.
