NE Jamfest Standouts: The Great Crusade Part 2

You noticed how great an athlete she was in multiple facets of the game. With the ball, she is one of the quickest players on the team and has a deadly first step that gets her past her defender in a heartbeat. Goldrick is an aggressive rebounder at the guard position and has an impressive vertical leap. Defensively, her east to west speed is apparent, and Goldrick was a significant factor in the teams’ trap and half-court man sets. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="184034" first="Chloe" last="Bindon"]|5’10’’|SG|’23</strong></p> <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-429501" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/B8BF5A23-FF77-4539-8007-AE1D1CA2499E-scaled-crop-1707x1121-1652543309-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">I haven’t seen Bindon play in person in a while and forgot how big and athletic she was on the wing. She ran the floor beautifully and got ahead of the defense numerous times resulting in easy transition layups. Bindon is also an excellent three-point shooter and was a reliable kick-out option for the penetrating Crusader guards. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="282806" first="Avery" last="Romps"]|6’0’’|CG|’24</strong></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Every time I watch Romps play, she always stands out because she is a game-changing defensive player. If Romps is on the court and the Crusaders need a stop, you can take it to the bank that she will step in and deflect a pass, block a shot, or force a turnover to help her team secure a possession. She is fundamentally sound, hustles hard, and makes momentum-shifting plays constantly. I also liked Romps’ mobility and skill set on the perimeter on offense. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="405376" first="Stella" last="Galanes"]|5’7’’|PG|’23</strong></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Galanes was a scoring machine over the weekend, and whenever the Crusaders needed a bucket, she could create and convert one. Galanes has the green light to shoot from anywhere on the court and was smart in her shot selection. She puts up a lot of shots, but they come in the flow of the offense and aren’t forced. Galanes’ finishing ability is top tier. With either hand, she can make tough layups that are highly contested. Galanes motor and defensive intensity are high, and she consistently picked up full court. She was a menace on defense and as explosive as anyone on offense at Jamfest.</span></p>
