Williams made headlines recently when she announced her commitment to USC-Salkehatchie. She made even more headlines in North’s first-round postseason contest against McBee. The end result was a 58-21 victory for the Eagles over the Panthers with Williams paving the way to victory by virtue of her 20 points, five steals and four rebounds. For the season, she has averaged 15.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.3 steals per contest. The Eagles were ranked second in the most recent 1A coaches’ poll and North will look to prove that ranking accurate in its second-round matchup against Abbeville.

North has already seen one of its marquee seniors commit last month. Most recently, Williams made her collegiate intentions known when she announced at an event that she will be at USC-Salkehatchie following this season. The addition of Williams to the 1A Eagles after transferring from 5A Division 1 Sumter has paid massive dividends for the team this season. She has played in 21 games for North and is averaging 15.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.9 steals per contest. In the most recent 1A coaches’ poll, North is ranked second. The Eagles have built an overall record of 18-4 and have only one loss (Ridge Spring-Monetta) in its region.

The latest program to extend an offer in the direction of this talented frontcourt force for 1A North was USC-Salkehatchie. Williams adds that offer to previous ones she received from Denmark Tech, Voorhees and University of Virgin Islands. After playing her final season of travel ball with FBC Next Up SC Lady Wolves on the NE2K circuit, Williams adds a formidable interior presence for an Eagles team that advanced to last season’s 1A Upper State championship game. She transfers to North from 5A Division 1 Sumter and played in 20 games in what was her final season for the Gamecocks.

The latter half of August did wonders for Williams’ recruitment. Roughly two weeks ago, Williams secured an offer from the University of the Virgin Islands and she recently received another one from Voorhees. She adds those two offers to one she received from Denmark Tech in June. During the spring and summer months, Williams ran with FBC NextUp SC Lady Wolves for grassroots ball and has made the move from 5A Division 1 Sumter to a North team that established itself last season as one of the teams to beat among 1A squads. Williams averaged 5.6 rebounds last season – third among last year’s Gamecocks.

Those watching Williams in 2025-26 will be very used to the familiar blue she has worn. Only the gold will be missing. Williams is making a massive shift from 5A Division 1 Sumter all the way down to North in the 1A ranks. One can possibly see why the Eagles caught an interested eye from Williams – North finished 18-9 last season and were 1A Upper State participants last season. Between joining her new high school team, joining FBC Next Up Lady Wolves on the grassroots circuit and the recent offer she landed from Denmark Tech, Williams has had a busy offseason. The 5.6 rebounds she averaged last season for the Gamecocks was third on last season’s team.
