After the conclusion of the first day of Southeast Slam, it was time to rest up and get prepared for what would be a second day of basketball from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach.

The latest Prep Girls Hoops Circuit Triumph Region event emanated from the 5A school with the Florida coastline and Daytona International Speedway serving as noteworthy backdrops. In addition to teams from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Illinois were among those represented.

There were plenty of standouts that caught our attention from the 2025 and 2026 classes after Saturday's matchups. The second day managed to be no exception.
[caption id="attachment_430069" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
Ciara Williams – 2026 – Seacoast Academy – Q4 Elite 2026 – One of the first notable performances of the second day of play came courtesy of Williams who was a key catalyst in a Q4 Elite 2026 victory over Space Coast Fury 2026 that pushed its record to 2-1 for the tournament. Williams makes things happen with her stout defensive play and that defense can at times translate to offense. She particularly will set up near the rim and put herself in position to convert on high-percentage shot opportunities. Williams also possesses a 3-point shot as part of her offensive arsenal. Williams is listed at 5-foot-6.
[caption id="attachment_430071" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
Jayde Brant – 2027 – James Weldon Johnson MS – Q4 Elite 2026 – Brant proved to be another important element to what was a winning performance early Sunday in the matchup with Space Coast Fury 2026. She is an efficient passer who can excel either in halfcourt situations or in the transition game. Brant is a long range shooter who will absorb contact and find her way to the free throw line. How tough she can be on the defensive end of the floor adds another element to what she does. Brant is listed at 5-foot-1 and is one of six from her school that is part of the Q4 Elite 2026 roster.
[caption id="attachment_430075" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="221626" first="Jamya" last="Stevenson"] – 2026 – Landmark MS – Q4 Elite 2026 – Stevenson stands at 5-foot-4 and is currently one of two from Landmark that occupy spots on the Q4 Elite 2026 roster. Her team closed out her portion of the tournament with a victory over South Carolina-based H2 Lowco 2026. Stevenson led her team to the win with a 14-point outing. Part of those 14 came by way of the 3-point shot as she drained a pair of triples throughout the game. Stevenson was an All-Conference selection for the 2020-21 season along with Landmark teammate Ashley Purdy. The brighter lights of the high school scene await this talented up-and-comer.
[caption id="attachment_430079" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
Evie Freeman – 2026 – The Bolles School – Blue Heat 2026 – The Bolles School connection came to ball on the second day of Southeast Slam. Blue Heat 2026 earned a commanding 64-10 win on the second day of the tournament and Freeman finished with 15 points. Freeman can get in position near the rim to connect on high-percentage shot opportunities – some of those can occur in the transition game. She will drain her attempts from midrange as well as from the free throw line on the heels of her getting fouled. The 5-foot-7 Freeman is one of three from The Bolles School on the Blue Heat 2026 roster.
[caption id="attachment_430082" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
Presley Norman – 2027 – The Bolles School – Blue Heat 2026 – The Bolles School connection also came through on Sunday in the form of Norman. She and Freeman have at least three things in common – their middle school team, their travel team and their height – 5-foot-7. If an opposing team passes the ball near her, she is a threat to come away with a steal – and possibly a bucket the other way. Her scoring prowess enables her to put points on the board from seemingly anywhere on the court – including in the midrange game and from downtown. Norman finished with 20 points in a Blue Heat 2026 win over Space Coast Fury 2026.
[caption id="attachment_430087" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
Olivia Prodehl – 2025 – Sandburg HS – Illinois Dream 2025 – Illinois Dream 2025 concluded Southeast Slam having gone a perfect 4-0. The team got contributions up and down its roster including from Prodehl. She stands at 5-foot-7 and has no issues absorbing contact and getting to the free throw line. Prodehl can play the role of a pure point guard that will score, distribute the ball and play effectively on the defensive side of the floor. She consistently finds spacing on offense to set herself to make plays and she will particularly find it around the perimeter to set up a 3-point shot attempt.

Brooke Katzman – 2026 – Hickory Creek MS – Illinois Dream 2025 – Katzman put together a superb weekend in Daytona Beach – and that contributed to her team going 4-4 for Southeast Slam. She stands at 5-foot-5 and is another who can play the role of a pure one or two. She also shoots 3-pointers the way many a coach would hope from a backcourt stalwart. Katzman also is not afraid to draw contact which will place her at the free throw line. She plays the game with a high basketball IQ and kept herself out of foul trouble in at least two of the games Illinois Dream 2025 were part of this past weekend.
[caption id="attachment_430093" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
Aubrey Birmingham – 2026 – Mokena Jr. HS – Illinois Dream 2026 – The waters on Sunday that Illinois Dream 2026 navigated through en route to short were a bit less choppy than the violent currents they encountered Saturday as the team went 2-0 the latter day after an 0-2 start to the event. The 5-foot-4 player has a 3-point shot included in her offensive skillset in addition to an ability to get to the free throw line. Birmingham is active away from the ball, boxes out defenders whenever she is near the rim, displays impressive ball handling skills and knows when to score and when to pass. She scored 12 points on Sunday against Space Coast Fury 2026.
[caption id="attachment_430094" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
Ava Underwood – 2026 – Hickory Creek MS – Illinois Dream 2026 – Underwood is a name that should not be flying under the radar in Illinois high school basketball circles. She is one of five on the roster that hails from the suburban Chicago school. If she has the ball behind the 3-point line, there is a good chance she will take and make said shot. She is also 5-foot-8 – one of the taller members of the roster who are currently less than six feet. Underwood scored 10 points and only had one foul called against her in Illinois Dream 2026's victory over Space Coast Fury 2026.
[caption id="attachment_430101" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="430459" first="Stephanie" last="Vega"] – 2026 – Somerset Silver Palms – Miami Impact 2025 – Playing up a year in class, Vega has found a footing with a Miami Impact 2025 team that is among one of the premier AAU squads anyplace. Opping defenses need to be aware of if she is left by herself with the ball in her hands behind the 3-point line given her shooting accuracy from deep. Opposing offenses need to be aware of Vega's ability as not only a ball hawk but also as a shot blocker. If those steals occur in a halfcourt defensive set, they could lead to transition baskets. Vega finished with 16 points in a 47-42 win over Blue Heat 2026.
[caption id="attachment_430105" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo: Prep Girls Hoops[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="243916" first="Victoria" last="Valle"] – 2027 – Somerset Silver Palms – Miami Impact 2025 – The Stallions' connection saved some of its best for last in Daytona Beach. Valle is playing up two classes and is one of three Somerset Silver Palms players on this year's Miami Impact 2025 roster. She too can be when she has the ball from 3-point range. Excelling in the transition game, corralling steals and getting to the free throw line are other integral elements to Valle's overall game. Valle scored 12 points in a hard-fought victory for her team over Blue Heat 2026 to close out their Southeast Slam schedule.
