The Main Event was an all-girls event in Benton, AR. It featured some of the best girl basketball organizations and some of the best individual players in the nation. Players like freshman standout Sania Richardson of BTR 2023 and Mikayla Williams of Mavs 2023 really don’t need the extra pub, but there were some other players that caught my eye during the weekend. With college coaches in the building, let’s look at some players who may have helped their stock rise due to their play. [player_tooltip player_id="420387" first="Jaycie" last="Cook"] | Point Guard | Arkansas Select ’24 | 2024 The game I saw Jaycie play I could tell her game was steadily improving. She continues to impress me every time I get the opportunity to watch her play. It started with her defense and her on-ball pressure. Jaycie would just hound the offensive player with her quick feet and hands. Offensively she was aggressive with her dribble and used her body to draw contact. When she would go to the free-throw line she was automatic. She could also make the jumper, push it in transition, make good decisions, and get others involved. [player_tooltip player_id="314541" first="Wesleigh" last="Ferguson"] | Wing | Arkansas Select ’24 | 2024 Wesleigh is a 6’0 wing player that brings many skills to the table. One thing I noticed was her rebounding was better. This is huge because when she secures the defensive rebounding she can now push the ball in transition and make plays for herself or others. She also attacked the offensive boards hard and was able to finish through contact a few times. Her length gives her the ability to finish in traffic. Wesleigh could also create off the bounce. She made a nice right-to-left crossover for the mid-range pull-up. Sarah Sondgrass | Forward | JSquad | 2024 Sarah was really impressive with her ability to play multiple positions. She could post up, work out of the high post, or attack the defense from the perimeter. She exhibited really good ball-handling ability and footwork. She could secure the defensive rebound and push it in transition. She handled it well enough to weave in and out of traffic to make plays. Sarah could also knock down the three-ball, get to the rim off the bounce, and finish at the rim in traffic. Kylea Morgan | Guard | Team Ten-10 | 2025 Kylea could really push the ball and finish in transition. She was a crafty finisher that could also make shots through contact. In transition, if you backed up too much she could make the mid-range pull-up. Also, in the half-court, you couldn’t give her too much room because she could make the catch and shoot three-pointer. Defensively, she was impressive also. Kylea gave good effort on defense and showed quick hands. Macy Willis | Point Guard | Team Ten-10 | 2025 Macy caught my eye with her poise on the floor. She never rushed or panicked, but stayed calm and played at her pace. Let’s start with defense. She gave multiple efforts on defense. From guarding the ball to hustling back to help protect the basket. Offensively she could finish through contact and with good footwork. She hit a nice euro step in transition that left the defender frozen. She can also take the bump and finish at the rim, hit the catch and shoot three and has good vision even when being pressured. [player_tooltip player_id="433863" first="Kiersten" last="Lowry"] | Guard | Team Ten-10 | 2025 Kiersten was a solid player that played her role. She gave good effort on defense and anticipated well to get steals and deflections. She could also make the spot-up three-pointer if left open. Keirsten could push the ball in transition and use her vision to deliver on-target passes to her teammates for the easy finish.
