Kewpies Court Shootout: Class of 2025 Standouts

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the top Class of 2025 standouts from last weekend’s Kewpies Court Shootout, which was  held at Columbia Hickman. &nbsp; <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-446070" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/06/F7D2AD9D-B06C-423E-B9A2-732214DE9C77.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> [player_tooltip player_id="375675" first="Tayla" last="Robinson"] (Battle): The 5’6 point guard is the consummate pass-first floor leader. Her court vision is excellent and she feeds her teammates with passes in their comfort zone. She excels at any tempo and she’s fully capable of getting a bucket when she has to. &nbsp; &nbsp; <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-338883" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/10/240876AB-9870-4FDC-AF34-6C85D5B1B02A.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> [player_tooltip player_id="303297" first="Jayla" last="Griffith"] (Hickman): A 5’10 point guard with good height and a high basketball IQ. She is an excellent 3-point shooter off the catch. She distributed the ball well and she moves with good pace. She is also a good perimeter defender with quick hands. &nbsp; &nbsp; <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-446071" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/06/54845750-B694-4B60-B171-1F50A89A2D05.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> Sy’Rae Stemmons (Hickman): A 5’11” forward who has good athleticism and plays with high energy at both ends of the court. When she decides to attack the basket, not many are going to keep her from getting to the basket. And she’ll also step out and hit the 3-pointer on occasion, which is of the line drive variety. &nbsp; &nbsp; Taniya Cruthird (Raytown South): A 5’9 southpaw wing who knows how to impact a game in a smooth and unassuming way. She plays at a speed that is comfortable for her and she consistently gets by defenders. She also uses her length to strip opposing ball handlers without fouling. &nbsp; &nbsp; <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-446072" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/06/304FF97E-0981-45DC-AE7E-08D4EF9E2513.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> [player_tooltip player_id="303290" first="Charlee" last="Bailey"] (Tipton):  A talented combo guard who can shoot the 3-pointer, handle the ball and pass. She has an excellent feel for the game as a young player. She delivered some impressive pocket passes to cutting teammates. &nbsp; &nbsp; <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-409710" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/04/89D78031-F961-41CA-900A-E0C2B67AF3FD.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> Kenedi Harrison (Helias): A 5’7” point guard who was one of the faster players that I watched during the event. Her speed and motor made her very disruptive on defense as she applied go on-ball pressure. She was also very effective in the open court.
