We’ve updated our 2023 rankings and have had a lot of movement up the rankings from some deserving players. Here’s a look at the biggest movers in this update.
[player_tooltip player_id="164404" first="Jala" last="Douglass"], Central (29-->11) - Jala has improved by leaps and bounds over the last 12-18 months and finds herself right outside the top 10 in the class. Central is deep with talent and Douglass has the potential to be the best in the group as they look to make a run at a 7th region title next season. If she plays in front of the right coaches in July, she should see offers coming her way soon.
[player_tooltip player_id="255506" first="Natalie" last="Gentry"], LaRue County (71-->21) - Gentry has to be mentioned as one of the most valuable players in the 5th region as she does everything for LaRue. She has also managed to really boost her stock with a strong AAU spring where she has shown she can affect winning in multiple ways on a bigger stage and against top opposition.
[player_tooltip player_id="222954" first="Rachel" last="Smith"], Great Crossing (53-->28) - Smith has been a very solid player for several years now but this spring has elevated her game to a higher level as she’s shown she can do more than just score the ball. More than ever, Rachel is making winning plays and filling up stat sheets every game out. She’s in the mix for a top player in the 11th region next season also.
[player_tooltip player_id="328573" first="Logan" last="Ortega"], Bullitt East (72-->29) - Logan was one of my favorite prospects at our PGH Top 250 Expo last year but had to wait her turn to be a major factor for a veteran Bullitt East team. Ortega has had a big spring alongside Smith in the ICE backcourt and looks primed to help keep East on top of the 6th region this upcoming season.
