Continue ReadingThe first live period for high school girl basketball players ended about a week ago. The week following the live period weekend, colleges usually begin to express their interest in players. Some players begin to learn what school likes what they saw while others receive offers from schools who are highly interested. Oklahoma Girls’ basketball has so many variables of players, it is not surprising that we had over 15 girls receive offers since the end of the 1st live period from in the month of April.
As many as 30 offers to some of our girls out of Oklahoma, with only 4 of those offers not being Division 1 schools. A few interests from schools on the West Coast, most of our Oklahoma girls received a lot of attention from local states such as Arkansas and Texas schools. A handful of girls also got some love from the East Coast and the South as well.
Notable players such as Taylen Collins from Muldrow with the Arkansas Banshees adds to her list with an offer from the University of Illinois, as well as Darianna Littlepage-Buggs from Classen SAS with THSS Mavs Elite to pick up an offer close to home from the University of Tulsa. In addition, another favorite; Alexys Keys of Sequoyah Tahlequah with OK Shock, added to her offers by grabbing another on from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Although over 15 girls amassed 30 offers within the state of Oklahoma for girl’s basketball, there are some players who grabbed the most attention from schools in the first live period, seemingly getting offered every other day and our first 8thgrader of the year to snatch an offer! Here are some notable players with offers after the first live period weekend this April.
Makenna Burch, Junior, 5’8, Guard, Jenks HS, OK PWP 17U Elite
Picked up the most offers since the live period weekend, she received a total of 5 new offers: University of Arkansas Little Rock, Morehead State University, University of Tulsa, University of Texas at Arlington, and Radford University.

Racking up her interest from schools to add 3 new offers as well, most of Harjo offers are local states to our state of Oklahoma. A backyard school, the University of Tulsa sent out an offer along with the University of Indiana and the University of Arkansas State.
Aaliyah Moore, Junior, 6’2, Forward, Moore HS, CY-Fair 17U EYBL
Next in line with the newest offers, what is most unique is that her offers extend far from the state of Oklahoma. Moore adds 3 new offers to list from the University of Arizona, the University of Virginia and the University of Indiana.
Laci Steele, 8thGrade, 5’11, Forward/Guard, Edmond North HS, OK Swarm 15U Elite
Our lone 8th grader to pick up her first offer and from a Division 1 school! Abilene Christian is already building on their recruitment list for the class of 2023!
