We’re going back to the watch list to give you a quick taste of some players who might be joining the Top 250 soon, some under-the-radar talent.
Jakya Jenkins Jakya Jenkins 5'8" | SG Woodbury | 2023 NJ 5-10 SG, Woodbury
Jenkins made the move to Woodbury, much like her Glassboro teammate, Alexis Davis Alexis Davis 6'0" | SF Woodbury | 2023 State NJ , and has benefitted off the move well, especially from the perimeter. She’s a great three-and-D player who got the chance to shoot from three quite often with the Thundering Herd as a junior. More playing time, more scoring opportunities, more development, more success.
Analise Johnson Analise Johnson 6'2" | PF Dickinson | 2023 NJ – 6-2 PF, Dickinson
Give Johnson all the credit in the world because she’s found her stride at her height and she’s really dominated on the defensive side of the ball. You’re looking at a player who quite nearly posted double figure scoring averages, along with a near-3.0 BPG average. Johnson has great potential to skyrocket up our spring update once it comes around.
Kara Keating Kara Keating PG Robbinsville | 2023 NJ – PG, Robbinsville
Keating might have taken a step back when it comes to offense last season, but her defense has improved tremendously over the past three years at Robbinsville. We saw that come to pass during the Covid year and even more so last season. She’s quick on her feet and quick to the ball as a defender. She plays aggressive, but keeps composure well on the floor.
Jessica Lee Jessica Lee PF Wayne Valley | 2023 NJ – PF, Wayne Valley
Lee makes her living on the inside, but has shown that she’s capable of shooting the three, though that’s sparse so far. Her aggression in the interior has contributed to plenty of baskets and opportunities at the line to shoot. However, with her being a more interior-first forward, she needs to continue to pepper in the inside to be successful. Make opponents uncomfortable, body up players and don’t be afraid to get more physical.
Beth Lindenbaum Beth Lindenbaum 5'8" | SG Clearview | 2023 NJ – 5-8 SG, Clearview
Lindenbaum has great help on this Clearview team, playing alongside the likes of Emma Steidle Emma Steidle SG Clearview | 2023 State NJ and Ana Pellecchia Ana Pellecchia 5'9" | SG Clearview | 2024 State NJ . That has allowed her to play more freely and has contributed to more open looks with many defenses so focused on the dynamic duo the Pride put out there. She’s one of Clearview’s better rebounders and can mix things up on the defensive side enough to cause some chaos.
Kelly McDonald Kelly McDonald SG Roxbury | 2023 NJ – SG, Roxbury
McDonald’s junior season was finally the breakout campaign she was looking for, especially as an up-and-coming shooter. While strange to use that term for an upperclassman, McDonald showed just how good she can be from three when playing consistently for Roxbury. She’s a free-flowing shooter who just needs to continue to get the ball and shoot in volume.
Tatiana Nunez Tatiana Nunez 5'7" | SF North Bergen | 2023 NJ – 5-7 SF, North Bergen
Nunez found more consistency toward the back half of her junior year with North Bergen, closing in on double-double average potential. Her facilitation skills have progressed tremendously as well, something expected to increase that much more this season. Nunez is a downhill player inside the perimeter and her bread-and-butter is getting to the basket to score. Nothing fancy, but simple often works the best.
