She was very efficient from the field and showed a lot of versatility shooting on the inside and on the perimeter. On the defensive end, McGill’s matchup against Trishay Collins Trishay Collins 6'2" | C Palm Bay | 2025 State FL is one they will be talking about for years to come. McGill blocked some shots and made it difficult for Collins and teammates to score on the inside. McGill was a standout and showed that she is one of the top “bigs” in the State.

Dezuray McGill Dezuray McGill 6'2" | C American Heritage | 2025 State FL was the best scoring “ big”I saw in Lakeland. McGill had to work for her points in the Finals against Palm Bay. That McGill- Collins matchup made the popcorn taste better and the soft drink had a little more fizz to it. McGill connected on several midrange shots and a few highly contested turn around jumpers. She also rebounded well and was a force on the defensive end as well. McGill came to play and can definitely “make the case.”

McGill was a standout last year in the Finals and is poised for the matchup against Palm Bay’s Trishay Collins Trishay Collins 6'2" | C Palm Bay | 2025 State FL . McGill is a workhouse on the inside who can get the job done and score on the blocks. She can also defend her area in the paint, and is very good on the helpside.

Dezuray McGill Dezuray McGill 6'2" | C American Heritage | 2025 State FL will be the tone-setter in this Final Four matchup. The Long Island University commit is a force on the floor. She brings physicality in the post, both offensively and defensively, and runs the floor in transition. She will be a focal point for Rickards; if they allow her to play her game, it will open up the floor for the rest of her team.

Dezuray McGill Dezuray McGill 6'2" | C American Heritage | 2025 State FL is another power forward who is an X Factor in Class 4A. McGill has been to the pinnacle in the playoffs before, and she was a strong player in last year State’s Championship game. McGill has the ability to raise her game and she doesn’t back down from competition. She is a very good rebounder, she can score on the inside, and she can defend against the best center and forwards in the State. McGill is an X Factor in every sense.

Dezuray McGill Dezuray McGill 6'2" | C American Heritage | 2025 State FL was a flat out force during the New Year’s Classic. McGill quietly went about her business on the court and was dominant. McGill really controlled the boards on both ends of the floor. Every ball within her vicinity belonged to her. She did get buckets, showcasing soft hands and efficiency in the paint.

Dezuray McGill Dezuray McGill 6'2" | C American Heritage | 2025 State FL (cover photo) is one of my favorite players to watch. She runs the floor like a guard, looking to out-hustle and outwork her opponents on every play. When she gets the ball, she knows what to do with it—she’s looking to score. Dezuray seeks contact and makes defenders pay for trying to guard her, using good footwork and a soft touch around the rim.

Even with two Division I recruits at the guard positions on her team, they still feed her the ball and let her go to work. McGill is coming off a 5A state championship season, where she averaged 10.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game, and had a very successful travel season with New Era Hoops, earning a few Division I offers.

I expect Dezuray to increase both her points and rebounds this season, as her team is favored to win their newly reclassified 4A state championship.
