Few players in the midwest are as creative with the ball as Waheed is when she’s at her best. Ever since I first saw her at the start of the last high school season, it’s been clear she has the tools to excel at the next level. Waheed’s quick, defends, shoots the ball, attacks the basket, rebounds, and jumps passing lanes that the guard looks like they have business getting to on defense. She’s one of the kids I enjoy watching the most when she’s at her best.
Waheed’s teammate at Milwaukee Academy of Science is one of the best at getting to the basket. Everyone knows she’ll attack the basket, but I’ve yet to see anyone slow her down. I don’t think I’ve seen her take many jumpers, which will have to change at the next level, but she does what works for her. Whenever her team’s needed a basket, she’s been the one to make something happen.

The West Allis native slipped through the cracks for me until the AAU season came about in April. She’s the most athletic kid in the 2023 class in this state, and I don’t think it’s all that close. She made plays over the summer that didn’t make any sense. Whether it be grabbing a rebound over five kids, making explosive plays on the defensive end, or saving the ball from going out of bounds, Brown can make plays that 99% of kids can’t, which makes her one of the most intriguing kids left uncommitted. Not sure what her best role at the next level is, but I’m eager to find out.

The Sun Prairie West guard/wing/forward made me believe in her game over the summer. I was always curious about what college coaches think her best role and position would be at the next level, and I heard that some wouldn’t pigeon-hole what she does in any one position, which opened my eyes. After hearing that and watching her play, I couldn’t agree more. She does a little bit of everything, and her versatility to play multiple roles makes her much more intriguing to college coaches.
