Juniors at Recruiting the Mitten

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On the eve of Halloween, roughly 35 girl attended a Recruiting the Mitten training at Oakland Fieldhouse. This had to be one of my favorite camps that I have been to this year. There was an energy and a positivity that is not common at these types of events- huge shout out to Coach Cam for setting that tone. It was also a fun event due to the number of freshmen that attended. The speed and fluidity in her dribble is striking, as is the fact that her eyes never look for the ball regardless of the difficulty of the move. The State Champion was an absolute menace off the bounce and finished with creativity around the rim. She made some amazing finds through traffic, some that surprised her teammates. The Grosse Pointe North product showcased an insane offensive arsenal. She made it to the finals of the three point shooting competition and nearly won it. She runs the floor and finishes in transition and has the ability to find open cutters. She posted up smaller players and finished off of lobs and with her back to the basket. She got by people off the bounce and even played solid defense. She has the ability to hit from deep and gets to the lane. She is a very strong defender, where she has the ability to guard 1-5. Tayla stuffs the stat sheet as she can play passing lanes, pick pockets, rebound, and block shots. She is a willing passer and a solid team player.
