Nelson is a highly skilled three-level scorer who knows how to control tempo and manufacture points. The powerful lefty has a mature offensive package. If the jumper isn’t falling early, she’ll calmly pivot to the block, seal smaller defenders and score with strength. That ability to play inside-out makes her difficult to scheme against.
She draws fouls at a high rate, understanding angles and initiating contact while staying balanced through finishes. Nelson also has legitimate deep range, capable of knocking down threes well beyond the arc — both off the catch and off the bounce. She’s not just a scorer either. She rebounds well for her position and contributes defensively, filling up the box score with steals and activity plays. Her physicality, skill and versatility make her one of the more complete offensive guards still on the board.
