It has always seemed like Ahniyah has struggled to choose track or basketball. She is an elite athlete, and when I say elite, she can take a 3-step approach jump and touch the rim at 5-6. She’s also quick, fast, and explosive on the floor. She committed to D1 St. John’s for track but then decided she wanted to play ball. Since reopening her recruiting, she has drawn new interest and taken visits, but in today’s environment, it could be ideal for her to go somewhere she can play a lot of minutes immediately, then after showing what she’s capable of, essentially transfer “up” to something much bigger.

made her presence felt throughout the Junior and Senior Showcase with a combination of athleticism, competitive spirit, and two-way playmaking. From start to finish, she displayed an advanced ability to create offense both for herself and for her teammates while showing she can impact the game on the defensive end as well. Bennett is a well-rounded guard with the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level. Her blend of scoring ability, defensive presence, and unselfish playmaking gives her value in any system. As she continues to refine her jumper and decision-making in half-court sets, she has the potential to be a highly effective two-way player capable of leading her team on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Bennett thrives with the ball in her hands. She consistently looks to attack defenders off the dribble, using a strong first step and confident ball-handling to get into the paint. Beyond just scoring, she demonstrates a strong feel for the game in transition, where she excels at reading the floor, advancing the ball quickly, and making timely passes to set up teammates in scoring positions.

Ahniyah has been a key player for Connersville over the past two seasons and continues to prove why she’s such a difficult matchup. An athletic guard with explosive quickness, she elevates smoothly to avoid defenders and releases the ball with precision, making her a tough player to guard. Last season, she was Connersville’s second-leading scorer at 10.6 points per game while also leading the team in free throw shooting. Her quickness not only fuels her offensive game whether attacking the rim or pulling up for jumpers, but also makes her an effective on-ball defender. As she enters her senior year, Ahniyah is expected to take on an even bigger offensive role alongside her fellow senior guards. With her scoring ability, athleticism, and defensive presence, she will be central to Connersville’s push for another winning season and a shot at a sectional championship.

Ahniyah is an extremely talented run-and-jump athlete who has excelled on the track as much as she has on the basketball court. However, she has “sprinted” out of the gates this Winter, averaging 18.7 points per game through their first three games of the year. She is absolutely electric off the bounce, she can elevate high off the floor and shoot over much taller defenders, plus she is a lockdown defender herself who can pick up 84-feet and cause havoc for opposing guards. If she can maintain a similar pace all year, look for her to start drawing serious college interest this Spring.

Ahniyah is another talented athlete who possesses great speed and quickness, and she is exceptionally bouncy. On her schedule at Connersville, she’s typically able to get by defenders and either pull up for an intermediate jumper or get to the basket and finish. She also uses her abilities to defend at a high level. She had some nice showings in the Spring, and if she can continue to hone her skillset, she could be a real problem for teams to defend, even at the college level. She is definitely a fun watch each time out.

Speaking of talent, Ahniyah is one of the best pound-for-pound athletes in the state, regardless of size or class. She is extremely quick, fast, and vertically explosive. She attacks the paint, rises to shoot, and I feel like she’s 3-feet off the floor. She has also doubled as a track star, and when you watch her play hoops, that part is obvious. She is great defensively in all aspects, and as she continues to tighten her skillset offensively, she could be a tremendous multilevel scorer, because you just can’t keep her in front of you.
