Sophie Christopher Sophie Christopher 5'6" | CG Broomfield | 2023 State CO – Broomfield
Christopher brings a steady pace for Broomfield’s dominant effort to start the year, going 5-2. The guard may not be particularly flashy, however she maximizes the fundamentals. To kick off the season, Christopher has posted 12.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 4.5 steals per game on 48% efficiency from inside the arc. She does great under pressure, consistently surveying the floor to find open shooters. An especially refreshing trait is her attention to detail on defense, often in the right place to leverage a charge from opponents.
Jaida Redwine Jaida Redwine 5'8" | PG George Washington | 2023 State CO – George Washington
For 6-3 George Washington, Redwine has shown high level passing vision . Proving dependable in a myriad of ways across the floor, Redwine has often times been the steady hand for their halfcourt offense. The senior guard has started off the season on a good footing, posting 9.4 points, 4.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game. Redwine has shown increased usage of head fakes and hesitations, proving to consistently freeze defenders.
Tania Hodge Tania Hodge 5'6" | CG Bear Creek | 2023 State CO – Bear Creek
Hodge has tied things together for Bear Creek, proving vital as a driver. The senior point guard has proven excellent getting into the paint by all means necessary. Although 5’6, Hodge plays much bigger than her size on paper. She crashes the glass with authority, drawing in plenty of pressure from those opportunities. To kick off Bear Creek’s season, Hodge has posted 13.4 points, 4 assists, 6.4 rebounds, and 5 steals per game while contributing 51% of her two point attempts. She has shown legitimate leadership qualities on the court, surveying the floor to find open teammates. Not to mention, Hodge has received an offer from Antelope Valley.
Katie Vierra – Berthoud
Vierra has been an exciting live dribble playmaker this season, showcasing high level passing reads off movement. The senior point guard has played a major role facilitating for Berthoud. To start the season, Vierra has posted 7.7 points, 4 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. The lead guard has displayed pick and roll passing with either hand, proving to manipulate angles around the defense. Fair warning, do not run zone against her, as she will pick it apart with ease. Keeping her dribble live at all times is absoluetly essential to fully leveraging her passing vision.
Rebecca Taylor Rebecca Taylor 5'6" | CG D'Evelyn | 2023 State CO – D’Evelyn
Taylor brings quick decisionmaking to D’Evelyn’s fast paced offense. The senior guard plays a key role their offensive system, facilitating those extra passes for great shots. Taylor has brought well rounded numbers this season, posting 9.9 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.6 steals per game while contributing 61% of her two point attempts. Taylor’s shot selection plays a key role in her efficiency, rarely forcing up contested shots. A large part of Taylor’s success with 10-0 D’Evelyn has come from ability to flow within the offense, rarely forcing decisions under duress.
