<p>The Regular season is almost over already here in the Palmetto State. Some regions look to be making the turnaround later this week in region play already. Wow! where does the season go? This week Prep Girls Hoops made the rounds to some games here in the Lowcountry. <p>The Lady Monarchs defeated the Lady Gators at the MLK Showcase at Lake Marion HS. The Lady Monarchs got balance scoring from <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='171789' first='La'Tavius' last='Wilson']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='488359' first='Diamond' last='Dundy']</strong> both scoring 15 points apiece while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='262014' first='Parah' last='Anderson']</strong> added 11 points in the victory. Wilson set the tone for the Lady Monarchs with her playmaking skills and ability to get to the cup. Dundy was able to go to work down in the paint and deliver on some put backs on the glass. </p>

<p>Anderson likes to play inside-out at times but prefers to play face-up. She was able to connect on some corner jumpers on the way today. </p>

<p>The Lady Gators fall to (5-6) on the season were led in scoring by <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='216957' first='Kadejah' last='Smoak']</strong> with 10 points and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='343091' first='Jalasia' last='Polite']</strong> chipped in with 9 points. Smoak is more of a wing player, and she likes to play out on the perimeter. She connected on a few floaters to the rack today. Kadejah does a nice job of staying active at all times on the floor. </p>

<p>Polite really likes to battle inside for position despite not being the biggest kid on the floor. Jalasia sure won't back down from a challenge and a chance to rebound the ball. She constantly brings effort and desire to the floor for the Lady Gators. </p>

<p>This looks to be the last season of basketball at Estill HS as the Lady Gators will merge with Wade Hampton HS next fall to create Hampton County HS. </p>

<p>The Lady Tigers came on the road and defeated the Lake Gators in Santee today at the MLK Showcase. Junior post player <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='171804' first='Trinity' last='Mickell'] </strong>was just too much in the paint for the Lady Gators to handle. Trinity scored 22 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and swatted away 4 shots. Mickell is rugged post player who really likes to bang on defenders and play the game through contact. She can go to work down on the block with her back to the basket and post-up. </p>

<p>Freshman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='585097' first='Micayah' last='Carter']</strong> is a new name for the database. She was able to open up the middle with her ability to make some perimeter shots today. Carter connected on 4 three-pointers today on her way to scoring 13 points for the Lady Tigers. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='206615' first='Danasia' last='Wright'] </strong>a left-handed small forward was the bright spot today for the Lady Gators. Wright was able connect on some mid-range jumpers for the shorthanded Lady Gators. Lake Marion HS dressed just 6 girls today for the game. </p>
