Pete Hile Tournament Standout Forwards

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the top forwards from Friday night's coverage of the Pete Hile Tournament at Truman High.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hist Truman defeated St Thomas Aquinas (KS) in the championship game. Rock Bridge defeated Lee's Summit West in the third place game while Blue Springs South defeated Olathe West in the fifth place game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='194411' first='Kendall' last='Puryear'] (Blue Springs South): The 6'2" 2024 forward was a dominant force in the fifth place game against Olathe West. She is simply too strong for any defender to deal with in single coverage. She can wheel and deal with a variety of moves or she can just overpower everyone. She also can operate from the high post where she can score on the power drive or hit the short jumper. She already has a number of Division I offers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='170385' first='Aa'Mya' last='Stacker'] (Truman): The 6'2" 2023 forward was a big force in helping her team to the tournament championship. She is a tremendous rebounder at both ends of the court. She is strong physically and she establishes excellent position inside, whether it is on a post up or for a rebound. She battled a little foul trouble in the championship game, but she still had a big presence inside with her size and strength.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='351752' first='Jayda' last='Porter'] (Rock Bridge): The 6'4" 2026 was excellent in the Bruins third-place win over Lee's Summit West. She was tough to handle in the low post with her ability to seal, catch and score on the drop step. She also stepped outside and drained the jumper from 15 feet on the regular. She had one play where she stole a low post entry, then ran the court to score on a transition layup. She is one of the top young post players in the Midwest region.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='207029' first='Cady' last='Huffman'] (Lee's Summit West): The 6'6" 2024 center is one of the tallest players in the state and she does a good job of playing to her size. She seals defenders well and she keeps the ball high and scores with a nice touch off the backboard. She rebounds well in her area and she displayed some nice passing skills as she was able to hit the open cutter for a bucket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='351749' first='Cora' last='Smith'] (Rock Bridge): A 6'0" 2026 forward who brings a potent 3-point shooting stroke off the bench when she enters the game. She hit a couple of triples in the third-place game, which went a long way to stretching the floor. She also has a nice, strong take to the basket to score in the second half.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>CeCe Moore (Truman): A 6'0" 2023 forward who quietly goes about her business and is very effective in getting things done inside. She sets solid screens and she was getting buckets on the roll down. She's a solid rebounder and defender who is always in the right spots.
