Sometimes I have a chance to get a variety of looks at different players and different setting matter, especially when you don't "have to be the girl" yet you understand how to make things happen, such as getting yours in the flow. New subscribers use simmiecolson30 to see even MORE

More than anything else, I love players who "play within themselves" and still wind up being relevant yet this is a mixture of players that have shown me what they are capable of not only during high school but on the club basketball circuit and even more impressive is their upside

[player_tooltip player_id='594029' first='Jazmine' last='Hansley']-5'6 PG (Dickinson)

#41

Hansley is one of the most explosive guards in her class that you probably haven't heard of. Her first step can leave defenders cemented to the court yet her acrobatic finishes in the Lady Gander Tip Off, including after contact, make her a "highlight waiting to happen". She understands how to create her shot under pressure, and knocks down the mid to long range yet her stop-and-pop jumper in transition is something to see also. She defends, baseline to baseline, and sees the floor well

[player_tooltip player_id='509670' first='Katie' last='Peiffer']-5'10 SG (Georgetown)

#44

Peiffer did what I stress players to do over and over and that's to place yourself in a position to be seen by someone KNOWLEDGEABLE. Since I am a REAL EVALUATOR, her performance at the Southwest Showcase JUST DID IT for me. I knew she could shoot the ball right off the top as she smoothly set the defender up with her variety of fakes and moves yet she showed the step-back, shooting off the dribble and even more importantly, the "catch and shoot " with a hand in her face. It's not just what she did, it's how she did it, and dropping jumpers with a hand in your face spoke volumes

[player_tooltip player_id='509658' first='Ally' last='Ihler']- 6'1 SG (Salado)

#45

Ihler has some scary upside and I'm expecting her to take it to another level because of a variety of reasons. First of all, "she's long and athletic" enough to maneuver past the defender, and observing her slice down the lane, as well as attack from the wing and finish is what initially caught my eye. She also has nice moves around the basket but the real deal is her jumper, she understands how to set the defender up and get it off, whenever and however she wants and with her wingspan and elevation, she does it with ease and showed that at the PGH Top 250 Expo. She also rebounds on both ends and has good timing

[player_tooltip player_id='594026' first='Saylor' last='Bourland']-5'7 SG (Vista Ridge)

#46

Bourland gave me a variety of pluses at the Sandra Meadows Classic this season and it's not just what she did, it's how she did it as well as who she did it against which ties into "it's not what you do, it's who do it against". Her poise under pressure against tenacious defense was huge as she found ways to take the defender bot off the dribble as well as show the jumper. I also was impressed with her handling the ball under pressure as well as her court vision yet her defense was equally impressive

[player_tooltip player_id='594031' first='Reese' last='Hoadley']-5'7 CG (Georgetown)

#47

Hoadley ties into the opening paragraph better than anyone else and in this Girlz Got Game article, my exact words were she "silently gets the job done" and "she can fill up a stat sheet" even better, she also is one of those players that happen to be in the right place at the right time, BB-IQ has a lot to do with it because she sees plays before they happen. She reads the court on both ends, her crisp passes give her teammates good looks, and she also plays the passing lane. Her desire to not only take the clutch shot from outside but make it "is a biggie"

Click here to view the updated 2025 Texas Rankings!
