Expert Analysis
Marissa Rimbert | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
She put on a block party, controlling the paint and making the rim a no-fly zone. Her ability to slide and rotate as a help defender set the tone defensive. On the other end she used her size to dominate through contact and-one finishes.

Hampton has taken her game from being primarily a back to the basket decoy that could rebound to polishing her skills to do an abundance of things, see evaluations here so her hands and footwork to score, after contact, looked good, but so did her scoring on putbacks as well as off the dribble. Interior defense was nice, and she went AFTA everything off the rim

Hampton is also “long and athletic” and she stands above “the magic number” so seeing her “on the court” improvement from before high school until now has been impressive. She’s scoring around the basket fluidly; nice hands and footwork play a part in that, as she can finish with either hand. Her rebounding, on both ends, and playing defense both inside and outside the paint were also pluses

Hampton turned some major corners over the CLUB BASKETBALL season and is on the short list of countless D1 programs. Her skill set and work ethic played a part in it as her “hands and footwork” stood out against some of the top shoe teams which always works because “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” and she JUST DID IT over and over. Nothing has changed, she’s strong around the basket, and on both ends, she also stepped outside the paint to defend, and even played the passing lane

Hampton continues to raise her stock as she moves from #33 to inside the Top 20 at #19. She’s not only long and athletic, she’s strong and powerful and with her standing above THE MAGIC NUMBER, her ability to control the paint, on both ends of the court stood out to me in the July viewing period. Her timing to block shots has improved each season, she rebounds on both ends and defends both in and outside the paint. Her hands and footwork keep getting better as she scores with either hand

Hampton continues to climb up the ranks and with her being “long and athletic” as well as standing above “the magic number” she adds “strong and athletic” to the equation and she’s beginning to take over games inside the paint, on either end. Her “hands and footwork” keep getting better and make her hard to handle as she scores with either hand but her timing to block shots as well as her rebounding and defense can change the momentum

Hampton went completely off a couple of weeks ago against some of the TOP TEAMS in Texas, shoe teams at that and when I have parents calling me about players, that’s parents from other teams, that means a lot so I have enjoyed her continuous improvement on the court, she made an earlier article from a couple of days ago see evaluation here

Hampton continues her club season tear impressing others. By that, I already knew what was coming and with her being ahead of schedule, that’s even better as her stock will continue to rise. How good is she? Well I had shoe team parents hitting me up telling me “you need to see this kid” and that is how it used to be but she’s showing how the game “used to be played” and with the “hands and footwork” “scoring with either hand in the paint” and hitting the boards as well as running the floor on both ends, all of that along with her size will raise several D1 coaches eyebrows

Hampton caught my eye last season, well she stands over “the magic number” and had a “college ready frame” so that was a given that even a novice evaluator should know however I’m enjoying her “on the court” progression as she did a good job maneuvering inside the paint to score and letting the physicality affect her. She rebounded, on both ends, even handled the ball afterward yet her interior defense has gotten better and so has her timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots
