Karsyn Bellomo, 5’8 G – Rutland High School Class of 2023
With Bellomo you get the hard skills, such as three-level scoring, crisp passing, and pressure defense on-ball. But you also get the soft skills of communication, situational awareness, and an intuitive sense of how to control the game. Karsyn’s leadership and facilitation has played a large part in RHS securing second place in D1 rankings and their only losses have come against last year’s D1 finalists. Bellomo has RHS at 18-2, running smoothly heading into playoffs.
Shelby Companion Shelby Companion 5'6" | CG CVU | 2023 State New E , 5’8 G – Champlain Valley Union High School Class of 2023
A key addition to Shelby’s game this season has been her consistency from deep. She’s been knockdown off the catch and her shot off the bounce is dropping too. With defenders forced to close out harder, her driving lanes are open as ever for finishes and playmaking. Companions’ offensive orchestration is always keyed in on defensive weaknesses, and her passing ability can really cut opponents up. Plus, she’s a pesky on-ball defender who turns defense into offense in a flash. CVU is #1 yet again heading into the postseason.
Peyton Guay, 5’9 G – West Rutland High School Class of 2025
The sophomore down south has reeled in some big-time milestones that seniors are usually aiming for. Guay tallied her 1,000th point midway through the season, and of course she’s put up some huge numbers to get there. She snatched her school’s the single game scoring record with 45 this year and likely averaged 25+ppg, but it’s not all offense for Guay. She’s a sly defender, both on-ball and off. Peyton reads passing lanes well, pressures ballhandlers, and is a prolific rebounder. Guay and crew head into the D4 playoffs at 20-0.
Cora Nadeau Cora Nadeau 5'9" | SG North Country | 2023 State New E , 5’11 G/W – North Country Union High School Class of 2023
The senior leader up at North Country has been a two-way terror all season. Cora’s offensive arsenal includes snappy passing and three-level scoring, whether it’s via her own creation or off the catch. She’s a natural 3 with her tight handles, shot-making, defensive versatility, and rebounding prowess, plus she can facilitate on the offensive end. However, Cora doesn’t need the ball to be effective and she consistently makes the basketball play. North Country heads into the D2 playoffs undefeated.
Allison Fullem, 6’1 F – Mount Mansfield Union High School Class of 2023
Fullem is that modern forward with an all-around skillset. Alli has inside/out ability with her three-level scoring and is particularly efficient off the catch, plus she can push the ball off of rebounds and make plays with her passing. Moreover, she’s a physical post presence who gives opposing bigs a hassle for a full 32 minutes. Yet, she’s nimble enough to switch onto perimeter players and play them straight up. Alli is a double-double threat each and every night, plus she can throw in a few assists with her over-the-top vision. Alli and MMU look to make a late-season surge as a middle of the pack team.
