During that time I get the opportunity to see some individuals that I have never seen before and follow up with some players that I have seen. This article will focus on players from the class of 2023 that are surging in the right direction.
Chelsea Hamilton Chelsea Hamilton 5'6" | CG Salem | 2023 State AR | Guard | Salem | 2023
Chelsea is one of the best all around guards in the class of 2023 in Arkansas. She’s a Delta State commit and is helping lead her team for the chance at a state title. Chelsea has a number of skills that allows her to be successful on the court. She’s money when she spot up and shoot the three, is tough in transition with her playmaking ability and finishing, she can attack off the dribble, and she’s a solid on-ball defender.
Janiyah Tucker Janiyah Tucker 5'4" | PG West Memphis | 2023 State AR | Point Guard | West Memphis | 2023
One of the quickest and fastest players with the ball you will see in Arkansas. When she combines changing speeds and changing directions, she is a nightmare to contain. Janiyah lives in the paint and makes plays for herself or her teammates. Her athleticism allows her to be creative with her finishes at the rim and she can finish through contact. If left open she can also make the three-ball. Janiyah uses her athleticism well on defense also. She’s a good on-ball defender that disrupt the opposing team’s point guard ability to initiate the offense.
Clemisha Prackett Clemisha Prackett 6'2" | C West Memphis | 2023 State AR | Forward | West Memphis | 2023
Clemisha is another athlete that can be a handful for her opponent. She controls the paint with her shot blocking and rebounding ability on both ends. Her ability to get position on the block and get into her turn around jumper is tough to defend. She also possesses good hands that allows her to catch passes under pressure or in traffic and she can finish around the rim over multiple defenders.
Jada Page | Point Guard | Parkview | 2023
Every team that is successful must have a point guard that can run the show. Jada does a good job of managing the game and running the team. She’s a quick point guard in the open court and uses her speed and ball handling to get in the lane or to shoot the mid-range jumper. In transition she can finish herself or be a playmaker.
Tyra Robinson Tyra Robinson 6'1" | C Parkveiw | 2023 State AR | Post | Parkview | 2023
Tyra 6’2 frame is a problem for her opponent. She post up well on the low block but can also step out to the three-point line and make a three. She rebounds well, has good hands, a soft touch around the rim, and shows off her good footwork. Tyra is a key component for Parkview to make a deep run in the playoffs.
Jasmine Davis | Wing | Parkview | 2023
Jasmine is a player that can do a lot from the wing position. She can handle it, make plays for others, and spot up. But she excels with the ball in her hands when she is breaking the defense down off the dribble. This allows her to finish in transition, get into her mid-range jumper, or shoot the three off the bounce. Defensively she does a good job of anticipating and playing the passing lanes.
Kamille Brown Kamille Brown 5'7" | SF Conway | 2023 State AR | Guard | Conway | 2023
When you play on a nationally ranked team, you have to accept your role and play it to the best of your ability. Kamille’s role may not be flashy with a lot of opportunity to score points, but she’s established herself as a top perimeter defender in 6A. She’ll defend any of the perimeter positions, knock down the spot up three, score in transition and do whatever is needed for her team to be successful.
