EWU Team Camp: Top Prospects

Cheney, Washington was the destination this week for over 40 high school teams from around the region. Eastern Washington University put on their team camp, which included a series of games, clinics and other activities. The entire coaching staff was on hand, while the players reffed the games, so it gave high schoolers a good opportunity to be around the women's basketball program. In my time attending the camp, I was able to identify some college prospects and standouts from the camp. Top prospects: 2020 5'10 G Tyler McCliment-Call (University HS) - Tyler was definitely the best player and current prospect at the camp. She has a strong frame, solid athleticism and really played hard every possession. Her pull up jump shot will suit her well in college and her shooting form is pretty smooth. She has some mid-major Division 1 schools interested in her talents. One of the big questions with her recruitment is if she will try to attend the same school as her twin sister. (mentioned below) 2020 5'9 G Jacksen McCliment-Call (University HS) - Simply put, Jacksen is a solid basketball player. She is not going to do too many things that hurt the team, because she does not force the issue or make a lot of silly mistakes. She has a solid jumper and can attack the paint some as well. As stated, the recruitment of the twins is still a bit up in the air, but both girls will be able to play at the college level. 2020 5'11 SG Rian Clear (Sagebrush) - Deceptively good player that doesn't necessarily look the part, but she has some game. Rian gets up and down the floor pretty well and had one of the better pull up jumpers in the camp. She will be able to help a college program at the right level. 2020 6'2 F/C Ramona Jagger (Decatur HS) - Another hidden gem found at a team camp this June! Ramona instantly stood out during warm ups even. She was the most vocal player in the entire camp and that is always a good sign from a post player that anchors the defense. That carried over to game time and she really directed her teammates through ball screens and help defense. She has a long frame that can add some strength, but she's not lacking it either. She runs the floor well and can alter shots on defense. As far as shooting, she has a high release, but it does need to get a lot faster to get it off versus taller defenders. She has some bounce to her step and untouched potential with proper development. 2021 5'6 G Regan Clark (Kamiakin HS) - Crafty ball handler that excels in the uptempo game. She has wrap around and between the legs moves going full speed. Regan showed off a good pull up jump shot and high level intensity on defense. One D3 coach in attendance said she would be a great fit at their level, but she is still a couple years away from college. 2023 5'9 G Nikole Thomas (Kamiakin HS) - One of the quickest athletes in camp is only a rising freshman. Nikole did a good job playing at the top of the press and turned defense into offense. She is a dominant left hander and strong going that direction, but attacking right will open up a whole new side of the floor. Prospect to watch moving forward as she puts it all together. 2022 5'8 G Kacey Spink (Ferris HS) - Appeared to have grown a little bit from the winter, but still has a very slender frame, although she's added some strength. Kacey is a good facilitator and solid shooter. If she continues to add strength, it will help take her game to another level. Her level as a college prospect is still very much in the air as her game and body develops.
