A 1,000 point scorer, who has taken the reigns at Glenpool as a junior. She has the Lady Warriors at 21-4 on the year and a District title with a 14-0 mark in District play. Individually, she recently broke 1,000 points her career. And she has been a problem this year off the bounce, including a 42 point outburst. Gibson is quick and with a killer crossover. Leading to floaters over taller defenders or the ability to go finish among the trees. Add in some of the better off the dribble three point shooter in Oklahoma and she is a certified problem.

The electric guard recently poured in an insane 42 points vs Berryhill. In that contest she had it going every which way. Pull up threes, spot up threes, ankle breaking crossovers and more. At the rim she’s like a pin ball, able to bounce off contact and still finish. Also has a very nice floater to score over taller defenders. “Yaya” has always been a fun, up tempo guard to watch. But with the graduation of Glenpool’s top scorer, she has taken the scoring reigns and flourished. Has the Lady Warriors firmly in contention for a Class 5A State Tournament appearance.

Feisty point guard, who opened her junior season with a dominating all around performance. An all action defender, harassing on the ball, hunting passing lanes and hustling for loose balls. Is all about tempo by often pushing off rebounds and turnovers, setting the table for her teammates with good vision and accuracy. Shot it well from three, which opens up her ability to attack the basket. Great start to her junior season, as the new leader for Glenpool, a 5A east side State Tournament contender.

Gibson is a great example of heart over height. Plays the game with tremendous energy on both ends of the court. Hits momentum shifting threes. And really shines on defense. Smart and aggressive while in full court press. While also a complete pest on the ball in the halfcourt. She’ll rip any loose handles and immediately take it the other way. Now has the full reigns for the Lady Warriors program that has moved up to Class 5A this season, and are more than capable of making a State Tournament run.

In the game watched, she slotted into more of a role as a shooter and key part of CyFair’s relentless press. Her defensive abilities are well known, as she’s quick, disruptive and reads the game well. It was especially encouraging to see “YaYa” hit threes and mid-range jumpers. After watching her have strong shooting performances with Glenpool this winter, it might be time for the exciting guard to also be known as one of the better shooters in Oklahoma too.

Firecracker lead guard for the Lady Warriors. Quick and shifty, can split double teams or simply go around slower defenders. Great pace as a driver, capable of stopping quickly for pull ups/floaters. Good off the dribble floor spacer from three, with good mechanics and a repeatable compact shooting form. Is a creator and energy giver on both ends of the floor. Type of prospect who always finds a way to positively influence games.

A sparkplug little guard who is not only a threat to score herself with A+ quickness, but also excels as a teammate elevator and set up girl. She applies pressure on both ends of the court. With heads up defensive play and paint touches on offense. Even though the 918 standout often leaves her mark with creation, with a good pull up game and floaters, she can survive among the trees at the rim.

A shifty lead guard, Gibson was huge in the second half of Glenpool’s state tournament win. She’s tough and quick off the dribble, with the toughness translating to the defensive side with a big charge taken late in the third quarter. Along with smart moving off the ball, she’s a quick on the ball defender as well. While the lead guard has an unselfish style to her play, she can be aggressive when needed. Including a time later in the game when she split a double with her quick first step and eventual drew a tough foul. Gibson looks to be a very crafty finisher at the rim, capable of drawing fouls or finishing when avoiding contact.

Yaya is a freshman that we have known was coming for a while now and it still kinda seems like nobody was fully prepared. She is a big-time difference maker for the Warriors with her handles and defense. Though her shot wasn’t landing early on, she continued to do all of the little things and kept her head up. As the game progressed, the energy she put into feeding her teammates the ball and the hardwork she put into defense began to translate into some fastbreak buckets. Next thing you know, she hit some big-time three-point shots. As a young player, her poise is already off the charts. It’s clear to see that Yaya is going to be a big-time prospect in the class of 2027!
