Co-MVPrnAustin was a force to be reckoned with in the paint, averaging 16 PPG and 12 RPG on the weekend, including a 23pt, 12reb line in the Championship game against Lincoln. She did an outstanding job using her strength and length in the lane against a smaller team, who couldn’t keep her from getting to her spots. Olivia is very active at both ends of the court, using her quickness to drive by slower Post players and get clean looks at the basket.
Co-MVPrnThe talk of the tournament for much of the weekend belonged to Froebe and her 45pt, 15reb performance in a Semifinal win over Deerfield. She is as fundamentally sound as a player can be at this level and uses her three level scoring and high basketball IQ to completely take over games. Kloe shoots the ball efficiently from beyond the three-point line and uses her ball-handling skills and athleticism to finish strong at the basket.
While Nazareth did a nice job limiting Peoria in the Semifinal, Guyton went absolutely nuclear in Peoria’s 3rd Place game with 33pts, 12reb, and 6ast. She is a dynamic, playmaking Point Guard who can hurt teams with her shot-making from deep as well as scoring and facilitating in the lane. Aaliyah is a reliable decision maker with the ball and plays with great toughness at both ends of the court.
Speaking of playmaking Point Guards, Galvan’s full skill set was on display throughout the tournament with her impressive ball-handling and shot-making. She averaged 15.5 PPG and 4.5 RPG, knocking down several shots from beyond the three-point line in her two games. Aubrey is one of the top PG’s in the state with her vision and passing skills, and her evolving scoring ability from all levels is making her an even more difficult player for opposing teams to game plan against.
Scully is a versatile Forward who excelled in the post throughout the tournament and even served as a frequent ball-handler for Nazareth. She averaged 11 PPG and 6 RPG in her two games, scoring in the paint with her physicality and toughness. Danni plays and defends multiple positions at a high level, giving her coaches several different options to utilize her abilities.
