It's time for one last look at the Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2023 rankings which were updated for the final time this week. Fifteen newcomers have been added to the list. With all of the section playoffs having concluded on Friday night, the high school careers of 13 of the 15 newcomers have officially ended. For [player_tooltip player_id='612168' first='Avery' last='Rich'] of New London-Spicer and [player_tooltip player_id='612164' first='Madi' last='McCullum'] of Eagan, however, they'll have one more week to compete on the biggest stage of all – the girls State Tournament. What a way to go out!

Here are all of the new additions, including a closer look at 5 notables.

5 ADDITIONS OF NOTE

#176 – [player_tooltip player_id='612161' first='Lauren' last='Youngquist'] – forward, Anoka

Lauren started off her senior season with a bang delivering a standout performance at the Twin Cities Thanksgiving Tipoff in a 47-46 win over Visitation. From that day forward until Anoka was eliminated this week from Section 7AAAA competition by Blaine, Youngquist put together an excellent campaign. The 5'11 forward is a terrific all-around contributor who scores consistently and has the athleticism and desire to rebound at a high level. Her length, strength and speed have made her a great defender, as well. Youngquist now moves on to Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD where she'll play soccer.

#200 – [player_tooltip player_id='612162' first='Sydney' last='Torgerson'] – guard, Houston

Torgerson has been a walking double-double in Class A basketball since middle school, a player who has always had the strength, size and tenacity to be successful on both sides of the ball. Although Houston is a little off the radar in Southeastern Minnesota – not Texas! – Torgerson has caused folks to pay more attention. Her mid-range game is really nice, but it is Sydney's grit, physicality and versatility that has defined her, both for the Hurricanes and in AAU with the Wisconsin Playmakers. After making one more appearance at the high school all-star game, Torgerson will move on to Central College in Pella, Iowa,

#230 – [player_tooltip player_id='612164' first='Madi' last='McCullum'] – forward, Eagan

What a year Madi has had. Eagan upset Rosemount to earn a berth in the State Tournament for the first time in program history. The Wildcats wouldn't have pulled that feat off if not for the play of McCullum. The 5'11 forward is super athletic and has always had raw ability. What we saw this year was the rapid evolution of Madi's skillset, a sharp spike in confidence, and the resulting productivity to show for it. She tied with [player_tooltip player_id='215983' first='Drew' last='Buslee'] as her team's leading scorer and was in double digits in three quarters of Eagan's games. Don't be surprised if Madi turns a few heads next week at Williams Arena.

#228 – [player_tooltip player_id='612166' first='Ellie' last='Kuechle'] – guard, Kimball

Ellie was actually included in the Prep Girls Hoops rankings previously after making a great impression early in her AAU career. For a couple of years, however, we capped the number of ranked players in each class at 150 and at some point Ellie got bumped off the list. That was a mistake, both the capping and the bumping. The 5'7 combo guard has had an outstanding high school career, topping 1,000 career points last winter and forging a reputation as a quick, scrappy, high-energy performer on both sides of the ball. Given her track credentials as a multi-time state champion in the 400, you know she's fast.

#233 – [player_tooltip player_id='612168' first='Avery' last='Rich'] – guard, New London-Spicer

New London-Spicer is old school. Mike Dreier is the winningest coach in Minnesota high school basketball history with a 45-year track record of success and over 1,000 victories. His teams play hard, fast and together, and there is little room for individual accolades and star players. That's why Avery is much lower in profile than her level of ability deserves. The 5'7 guard is an excellent floor general with a high IQ, great court vision, very good passing skills and the ability to put the ball in the basket. She is NLS' leading scorer and made the coaches' all-state squad, and next week she'll compete for a state championship. Now, better late than never, she's also a ranked prospect.

10 MORE NEWCOMERS

#229 – [player_tooltip player_id='612163' first='Olivia' last='Hanson'] – guard, Monticello (Concordia-Moorhead)

#231 – [player_tooltip player_id='612165' first='Kaylee' last='Narveson'] – guard, Kasson-Mantorville

#232 – [player_tooltip player_id='612167' first='Brooke' last='Naas'] – guard, Mountain Lake-Comfrey

#234 – [player_tooltip player_id='612169' first='Isabelle' last='Pennertz'] – forward, Litchfield

#235 – [player_tooltip player_id='612170' first='Greta' last='Hansen'] – forward, Litchfield

#236 – [player_tooltip player_id='612171' first='Bella' last='Davison'] – guard, Robbinsdale Cooper (Peru State)

#237 – [player_tooltip player_id='612172' first='Kari' last='Matejka'] – guard, Martin County West (Dakota State)

#238 – [player_tooltip player_id='612173' first='Kristen' last='Hilbert'] – forward, Kimball

#239 – [player_tooltip player_id='612174' first='Ella' last='Schomburg'] – guard, Lakeville South (North Central)

#240 – [player_tooltip player_id='612175' first='Avery' last='Watzke'] – guard, Hutchinson
