6A State Championship Breakdown – North Little Rock

I got the chance to see them play several times over the last two years and when Garin was on her game North Little Rock was tough to beat. She will be missed next year. Whoever comes in to fill her shoes will have to pick up where she left off. She would defend the opposing team's point guard, then she could switch and defend the opposing teams top scoring wing player. In the state championship game she was aggressive on offense and finished with a team high 20pts. She tried to keep her team in the game with her scoring and playmaking. She has good quickness and speed that allow her to get out in transition and make plays. She could also do a little bit of everything for her team. She could play on the wing or operate out of the high post. She defended multiple positions, was a great on ball defender, and could spot up and make the three. She can shoot it from anywhere on the court at a high percentage. Her three point shooting stretches the defense and created hard closeouts which gives her the opportunity for straight drives to the basket. She also uses her length well on defense to get deflections and steals when in the passing lanes.
