Grind Session: AZ Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This past weekend I watched the Bella Vista Prep girls in the <strong>Grind Session</strong> <strong>Final-4 </strong>on Friday night and watched the <em>Grind Session All-Star game</em> on Sunday night at the Phhacility in Phx. AZ. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Here were some of the standouts I viewed over the weekend</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='208246' first='Saniyah' last='Craig'] AZ Compass Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong power forward is a little raw but runs the court, plays really hard and gobbles up all rebounds in her area. She has a big motor to rebound and can rip thru and score through contact. She has a drop step with her left or right hand showing some growth to her game.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='205653' first='Ysabel' last='Puente'] Dream City Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A junior combo guard with a shifty handle. She can shoot the three, run the court in transition for layups and give hard ball fakes and will go up. She hit a clutch three down the stretch and hustled for a put back.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='588408' first='Nykyah' last='Williams'] Phhoenix Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An undersized point guard has great open court speed and throws dimes up the court with a super tight handle. Shes uses her speed in the open court to score on run out layups and competes hard.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nene Ndiaye SF 6'1 2023 AZ Compass Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger wing forward is a deep three point shooter. She makes good passes, she can rebound in her area and can step back off the dribble to hit shots. The <strong>Boston College</strong> commit had an assistant coach on hand to watch her play.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='591097' first='Gal' last='Raviv'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A high IQ lefty point guard can shoot it and handle pressure fairly well. She changes speeds and can get into the lane and float it in. She sees the floor and will throw ropes up the court.&nbsp;She&nbsp;has the catch three and is a true gamer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='590992' first='Destiny' last='Lunan'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top players in the Grind Session had a great weekend. She is a very shifty scoring guard with good size. She can burst into the lane with her speed and score on tough contested shots. She has a smooth handle on the break to go along with her speed. She can step back on her defender and let it fly with range and has a very quick first step and finishes off euro steps.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='588549' first='Adeang' last='Ring'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top shot blockers in the class and state. She moves well from end to end and and can step out and hit a three occasionally but scores it inside primarily. She keeps the ball high making it difficult to block and will rebound at a high level.&nbsp;She has recently been a hot target for college coaches. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='59785' first='Adelyn' last='Walker'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A point forward type who handles the break well. She can rebound and plays physically throughout the game. She has a nice hesitation move to freeze the defense to get to the basket. She scores thru contact and has that no-lose attitude.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='618574' first='Lana' last='Koricanac'] Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A good sized wing forward who can shoot the three plus plays and defends multiple positions. She is a good passer and handles the ball well. She will rebound inside and plays with energy.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
